I need an answer from someone from there.

When you guys play online games, what servers do you usually play on? Do you get your own? Play on Asia servers? NA? Seems like you're kind of isolated.

I wanna say Xcarvenger is from Australia, but I may be way off base.

I think Xcarv being from Australia sounds right, because there was someone that I thought was from the UK because of timezones but then it turned out they weren't and Xcarv fits that description possibly.

Umm, pretty sure we have our own servers. Whenever I quickfind a game on Gears or CoD, I generally (90% of the time) get put in a game with Australian/New Zealand players. I can get into other servers, of course, if the party leader is from another country (frequently play CoD on NA servers, which is pretty laggy for me but fine for everyone else, and I've learned to adapt well).

My guess would be that they either have their own servers or do NA (for same language), or it just varies from game to game

Oh, and occasionally I find a couple of Asian gamers in matches. Not often, but they're there.

okay so that makes sense. I was looking at some game's server list and they listed a bunch for NA, Europe, and Asia but nowhere else. I figured Australia is developed and important enough that online play would be a standard thing there. South America usually piggy backs on NA servers AFAIK and who even knows about Africa.

We have regional server for some games, but a lot of them (I'm looking at you WoW) aren't based here so it doesn't make a big difference if you play on them or not. Personally I tend to play on NA servers.

Nearly 100% sure we do have our own servers here in Australia, for most of the larger games at least, but I very rarely play games online.

When I was younger and played online games at 3 or 4 AM PST, I would sometimes find myself on Australian servers because everyone else was sleeping. They were not even servers that said Australia with mostly Americans either; I was a minority because I wasn't from Australia or New Zealand.

I approach that map with healthy dose of skepticism

Why wouldn't we have dedicated servers? I'm pretty sure we have more gamers than the entire African continent, or some crazy statistic like that. Plus, y'know, the whole geographic isolation thing.
