I've only played Rome but I like it a lot. What is the best/what are other good ones?

Europa Barbarorum mod for Rome.

Shogun 2 is really hard if you dig that.

Most will say Rome, but I love Shogun 2. Before that, I'd say medieval 2.

Although, unless your PC is rather new, Shogun 2 might be a bit too demanding for your system. Worth it if you can.

My PC has recently devolved into struggling with games it used to run fine. Starcraft 2 and Portal 1 now run on lowest settings only. It's whack. So I guess Shogun 2 is out for now!

I'll check out Europa Barbarorum and Medieval 2 though.

Shogun 1 is also awesome if you don't mind super bad graphics.

Shame! But yeah, if you can't handle Portal, then getting a decent experience out of S2 won't happen. I would recommend the original Shogun, but that's probably not going to be as interesting to you at this point.

Medieval 2 was the most fun to me.

Rome's campaign interface was pretty good.

Yeah, I can't run Shogun 2 very well. Still try to because it's pretty damn good! But oh my god realm divide is such a dumb idea imo.

Medieval 2 runs pretty much perfectly, but it doesn't seem as fun to me.

My favorite part of the other Total War games was making alliances and taking on the world with one strong ally, but Realm Divide makes everyone declare war on you pretty much immediately and gain diplomatic bonuses with each other to where they're less likely to fight. If it was something like East vs. West with nations friendly to you having the choice to join your side it'd be awesome, but I dislike all my political shenanigans going to waste when the Emperor suddenly decides LOL NOPE TIME TO WIPE YOU OFF THE FACE OF THE EARTH

I can barely run Shogun 2, but from what little I've played, that. Rome and Medieval 2 are also really good.
