I remember working at a movie rental place when Catwoman came out. My boss told us all to ask the following question of anyone renting it: "Are you getting this for any other reason than to look at Halle Berry?" If they said yes then we were ordered to try and talk them out of it.

As a Wal-Mart employee in electronics, I go through the same thing for the most part. Just a short list of things I've witnessed/heard...
- A guy last year refused to get a black Xbox, because as he quoted "White Xboxes actually work, you know, like white people" - People automatically assume we have a particular movie, because if we sell films older than the one they're looking for, then surely we must have THAT one - When having to choose between asking a female coworker who plays lots of video games versus asking a male coworker who plays no video games at all, they will ask the male coworker. Then again, that's western NC for ya - A guy tried getting his money back for a broken tv without actually returning the tv itself. - Two guys got a discount on a tv, solely because we didn't have the specific tv they were looking for - Customer service gave someone a refund for a movie they purchased from FYE - A mother got onto me because I sold her two sons T-rated games. ...among other things. To this day though, two conversations stick out the most in my mind from specific customers... *customer's looking at Burnout 3 for both PS2 and Xbox, then calls me over* Customer: "Excuse me, can PlayStation 2 games play in an Xbox?" Me: "No ma'am, they can't." Customer: "...but they're both discs." Sometime two years ago... Customer: "Do you guys have any more copies of How to Train Your Dragon in?" Me: "The movie's not set to come out for another month or two." Customer: "But Clash of the Titans came out after that movie and it's already out on DVD!" Me: "Clash of the Titans also made far less money than How to Train Your Dragon, hence why it's already out on DVD." Customer: "................." nothing too major, but annoying
some kid came in with a PS2 and before testing it, I asked him "You're only getting 12 bucks for it, are you SURE you want to sell it to us" and he said yes I always make sure to do this when people trade in Wiis and PS2s cause its extremely annoying to test it, give them the price, then have them change their mind. so I try to eliminate the testing step if its not necessary so I went through the GRUELING process of testing it and sure enough, it worked but then he said "Now give me the value of THESE" and gave me a bag for of PS1 games I told him we don't accept those he changed his mind and took the PS2 he apparently thought a bunch of disney licensed PS1 games, on top of the PS2, would give him a good amount idiot -- http://29.media.tumblr.com/zbT6A1rVVpd1ctqyD1A6EJQ4o1_400.gif ... let me explain something in our trade in database, there isn't a CE price we JUST take the game in so when someone tries to trade in a CE to something, one of two things happens 1. we give back the extra goodies that it comes with and JUST take the game or most likely 2. we take everything in, and sell it as a regular version. the latter happens more often because we get lazy and don't want to make a case for it since gamestop is actually not REQUIRED to care for the extra goodies, we sometimes might take something from it and in the past two days, I got the artbook from FFXIII-2 and MGS HDC EEEEE -- http://img34.imageshack.us/img34/2288/zbt6a1rvvpd4l9w2opi4wns.gif ...
