Adds Luigi and Bass as totally new characters, but there are also alternate skins for characters that make them look like others (Proto Man for Mega Man as an example)

Also, you can change the visuals of enemies and levels to look like Game Boy, SMB3, or SMAS graphics!

Other things are different too, like the powerup systems for characters.

Whoa, big change. If you're not playing as Mario or Luigi, you can't jump on enemies to hurt them. Besides Koopas that are inside their shells.

Oh god, unless they throw hearts at you left and right Simon is look seriously nerfed. Sad.

Holy Water does look pretty good but I'm really not sure it's going to be enough.

Like EVERYONE is seriously nerfed. Except maybe Link. (And Mario obviously)

Taking away stomping and making it so you have to earn more of the abilities makes this game a lot harder.

Ceiling climb is another powerup now, as it was separate in the original game. Same with Hover.

Alright, other initial reactions:

Sophia III: Has to collect Wall Climb instead of having it default. This doesn't include climbing under the platforms. Not sure if that's another powerup or just gone. No default hover is huge. I assume you can still collect it. Hovering is by far the best ability as long as you aren't doing an All Hammer Bros. run (assuming that cheat is still in).

Link: Still has the Boomerang by default and won't lose it if he takes a hit while carrying a mushroom.

Bill: Laser and Flamethrower seem absolutely f***ing atrocious.

Ryu: No default throwing stars. Each powerup will give him less overall than a fireflower in the last game (windmill shuriken + large sword). Powerups can drop from enemies now. I could actually see him improving if his potential is raised enough by the extra variety.

Randomness of powerups beyond the mushroom seems like it's going to hurt in general, especially when used to be default and new but crappy powerups are subject to it.

Yeah, a single hit means so much more now. There's too much s*** to collect. Hope he goes and ups the amount of powerups in a later update.

Also really hoping that I can somehow can get the infinite Axe back for Simon...

Morph Ball and Bombs being separate for Samus is absolutely f***ing silly. Morph Ball is next to useless without bomb and it's not particularly great with it either.

I can think of only one time you would ever go into Morph Ball besides to drop bombs. That one coin underneath a firebar in two of the castles.

I prefer playing with the Classic Samus cheat on so that change especially sucks for me.

He says there are over 800 tracks now.

The SNES ones make the game run slow for me though.

So I'm pretty sure Gimmick is a planned character for the future or something, because I definitely just ran into some of the music from his game.

Alright, so I'm on 4-1 right now and I'm so bad at this game that I can't even get past the Lakitu. He's so cheap. Dropping s*** on me that i suck at dodging.

Depending on who you're playing you could either ignore him completely or just shoot up at him until he's dead.

oh cool, he just said in the game's forum that he's going to combine Morph Ball and Bombs into one powerup.
