yeah that part being in the trailer was highly misleading.

the actual movie was incredibly dumb and not funny at all, and it seemed like the scriptwriter was trying to make a point that if your girlfriend leaves you for some dude that you should just go and kill a bunch of people and in the end nothing will happen and the cops will never pin anything on you. I mean, yeah, the guys in the movie were sleazy drug dealers but the characters in the movie didn't seem capable of making that distinction anyway. the two main characters were legitimately clueless beyond the point of being believable and it made the entire film nonsensical and pointless.

It sounds a lot like Observe and Report, which actually gets a lot better when you think that the movie becomes his hallucinations after he stops taking him medication.

Uh, if I remember correctly, they were drugging and raping the dude's wife. Killing them all may not be reality plausible, but it's pretty movie plausible

yeah that was pretty sad that time the main character basically just ignored it happening and never thought about it again as the movie continued on to the point where he got a 'happily ever after' as if nothing out of the ordinary had even happened

Another movie that was poorly marketed, coupled with misguided expectations. People saw the cast. People saw the quirkiness. People saw the jokes in the trailer. People remembered Kick-Ass. They all just assumed it was a straight-up light comedy. It ended up being more of a dark comedy/drama, kind of like Defendor (which is way better too). Now, I'm not calling Super a good movie. It was alright. But the amount of hate it gets (and the intensity) is kind of funny.

What happy ending? The only way you could really consider that ending happy is by the fact that two of the three main characters
