The 360 dpad is much maligned, and deservedly so because it is pretty bad. But I've been playing some 2D platformers on it lately and it hasn't really been an issue. Which made me wonder: what kinds of games does it obstruct you from playing well? Obviously 2D fighters is the big one. The dpad is bad, the buttons aren't set up ideally, having bumpers and triggers is bad, it really is not a fighting game controller. But what else is out there?
It gives me an issue with DMC4 sometimes when switching styles as Dante, as you use the d-pad to swap styles and you'll sometimes hit two directions at once or press one and it snaps back in a different direction and you get a double swap when you didn't want one.
That's the only game that isn't a 2D fighter that has given me trouble, really, but I like me some DMC and 2D Fighters so it is a most grievous sin.

Is it still the case in MM9 that you can't duck? If so, how does the dpad mess with you? My problems with the 360 dpad usually involve getting diagonals when I mean to get one direction, but it doesn't seem like that'd be an issue in MM games.
Ladders are the main issue in the Mega Man games, as he'll grab sometimes when I don't mean to. It's not really a huge problem for normal gameplay, but when you try to speedrun the game it's a huge pain in the butt.

Ladders and directed attacks. But the even worse would be when you're playing as Bass or Protoman and dashing/sliding when you don't want to.
