the splash radius on tiamat is so small, that if you attack the center caster minion, you might hit all three of the caster minions. Your enemies have to literally be standing on top of each other for it to be useful.

But there are "somewhat" quick workarounds when you learn what builds into what. For example if I want phage for frozen mallet, but it isn't on my list all I have to do is quickly click on the banshees veil which is. Then from the veil page select the ruby crystal, then select the phage. Hmm....
IE, Randuins, Trinity Force, Wit's End, Abyssal Sceptor, Warmogs or something like that is what I would do for every champion. Maybe there is a more optimal set of 6. I think that combo is only really missing like Needlessly large rod, boots, Doranx3, Vamp Sceptor, Meki pendant, and Faries charm. I think. (unless you absolutely never play a champ who might benefit from move3 boots) But I think: 1) boots of some kind (to get to all boots) 2) Sunfire cape - satisfies Warmogs, Rylais, Atmas, Randuins, Thornmail, etc 3) Banshee's Veil - satisfies FoN, and has really easy tie-ins to trinity unless you are going for zeal first, which is really only for PD 4) Infinity Edge for all your BF sword needs, also PD 5) Shurelya's? This will give you a kindlegem to play around with as well as the phil stone for supports. 6) Deathcap for everything NLR and blasting wand related. Is it just me or was the whole video just "here's how to beat her" and basically him getting punked a bunch. The only footage of him actually playing her was at the end when the whole screen was covered by the items and **** Also lol @ kat's auto attacks doing more damage. I know we couldn't see the items or w/e but it doesn't really instill a ton of confidence when an auto attacking champion at least appears to be absolutely horrible at that. ... Copied to Clipboard!

Alright, I'm starting to figure Fiora out. Oddly enough, she does best in 2v1 (with Fiora being the 1), then 1v1, then teamfights.
Buildwise, I'm slowing getting a plan going. What seems best is Wriggles (starting with vamp), then really fast shoes, then Phage. From there probably upgrade the phage into the mallet, and then build either cap out attack speed and CDR or build a bunch of Tiamats. The AoE isn't a big deal, but Lunge and Blade Waltz can both trigger the non-unique proc for some very nice damage. -- This isn't 1950. well, dan dinh just stomped with ninja tabi, wriggles, and triforce. I've only watched two games of his with her, but each time he feels like he needs more durability. Only reason he didn't die more than a couple times was probably because of crazy clutch soraka heals and *** yeah ult + wriggles = yay health regen

she has no ways of shedding CC without a QSS. I've never been impressed with melee champs with attack speed steroids because it assumes that....
1) you have the health/sustain to survive 1v1 2) the person even bothers sticking around 3) you aren't getting jumped to make it stupid to stick around 4) you don't randomly die to AoE that wasn't targeted at anyone in particular ....to actually get more than 2 attacks off before dying, not to mention the fact that those 2 attacks probably didn't do that much damage anyways. 1v1 duels almost never happen because everyone knows whether or not their champ is good at it and if not, they just run away. those reasons are, in a nutshell, why melee carries are underpowered imo ... To get past this, many melee carries have a gap-closer, a slow or something similar, or a major speed-up. Fiora has 2 gap-closers basically, a long-lasting speed-boost, and her ult is basically another gap closer. She can chase. So if she jumps you, you can either run and die or fight to damage her a little bit before you're gone. A lot of people live by the "rush bloodthirster, then maybe another" strategy, but every time I see that, the Riven just dies in a second. She doesn't have the attack speed to take advantage of the lifesteal, so if you do decide to rush BT, then you have to build some tanky stuff right after, or you won't last long in team fights at all. I tend to open with Wriggles, then go Atmallet or Atmogs. Hexdrinker is considered a good item on her because it adds MR and AD, for a relatively low price. Bloodthirster for the increase in damage. Considering Riven's kit, her damage is off of AoE abilities and procing her passive. It's typically good to hit an enemy once between each ability use, even though you won't always have that opportunity. Her Q, being a triple hop, is a good way to close distance. It has low enough cooldown, and she doesn't use mana, so use it when traveling from point A to point B (assuming that there's little to no chance you'll run into an enemy champ). In combat, if you're in range, you strike once, auto-attack once, then follow up. The other big part of her Q is the final blow, which is a knock-up. This little bit of CC is worth rushing to use if your target is trying to escape. Her W is a short AoE stun. It doesn't have the longest duration or range, but Riven already has a knockup, so she doesn't need as much stun. Her E is used for a multitude of things - it grants you one proc on your passive, which is good for farming, or additional damage on jungle camps. It is used to close distance, so use it in tandem with her Q when traveling across the map. It can be used as a gap closer when you're moving in on an enemy. The shield it grants you isn't too big of a factor lategame, but I try to open with E so that any quick spells launched by AP's are slightly less effective. Her R is a damage steroid. Don't be afraid to use it. It lasts for a pretty good time, and if you start dueling somebody, you'll regret not having it up all the time. The active cast of the R is like Garen's ult - it does more damage the less health the enemy has. Use it as a finisher, but keep an eye on how long your ult is lasting, to make sure that you don't forget to cast it. When ganking, pop R first if you expect to possibly get a kill, run in, and use E as a gap closer. If you need to use Q, then do, but if you can save it until you're next to them, then do so. I like to get close, W, attack, Q, attack, Q, attack, Q, attack, activate R. E doesn't have too high of a cooldown, so it tends to pop back up if you need to catch back up to an enemy with an escape. I like to open with my W, because if the enemy tries to escape, you still have 3 hops with your Q to catch up with. Riven is fairly flexible with her build, it depends on your style, your team, and your opposing team.
In jungle, Boot 3 pot or Doran's Blade are my two choices. I personally like Doran's in most cases opting for more ganks. Cloth 5 pot if you see somebody like Twitch or Shaco and you expect to need the sustain. After ward go into Wriggles, Bloodthirster, GA, and two situational items. In lane, I usually open Doran's, but it very much depends on your opponent. Opening Dorans mean you'll want to press your early level strength and hopefully get an early kill. If you do, you'll want to build another Dorans and a Brutalizer. With Brut, runes and masteries, you can do nearly true damage to some champs with the armor pen. Use that to gain a bigger advantage. If you aren't doing well, then skip the brutalizer and second dorans to get a wriggles. Depending on how badly you're doing, you may also want to max E first, meaning your sustain in lane is crazy good. Either way, you'll want to build just like jungle, following your first item with BT, then GA, then two situational items. I like to skill R>Q>W>E, but this is very situational. Use E as much as you can in teamfights, with a maxed E and BT you shield for a ton. Farming can be a little tricky because Q and W harass damages minions, so be wary about overextending. -- "In the game of chess you can never let your opponent see your pieces." ...
