But I don't have an AP Rune since none of the tops I use need it. Thus why I build Fizz on hit tanky. The idea is to be strong enough to get in and deal so much damage as to send them packing. You can turn a decent carry into a good one by being a great support. Things you should work on: 1.Knowing matchups. Knowing when you can be aggressive and when to be passive is huge. If you're Sona/Trist vs. a passive land like Soraka/Kog then know you can mass murder them. Poke them every last hit and force them out of lane or to zone themselves. On the other hand, if you're against something like Alistar/Graves then know you have to play passive because the burst is too much. 2.Know when a good time for Oracles is. An early Oracles can really help bottom lane snowball. If the enemy knows they have no wards they know they can't be aggressive. This forces them into mistakes and bad plays. 3.Know when to use Sona's ult. That thing is game-breaking. You want to use it early but never on just one person. Try to catch 3 people in it because no other support can do what you do. You add an ultimate that is AP Carry worthy to the team and its power is immense. In the last 3 games we played i only got 1, 2, and 1 kills respectively, so i think i'm doing ok there. Knowing matchups i do need to work on, i'm used to always being aggressive but yeah against stuff like Ali/Graves i need to work on being more passive. I'm not used to getting oracles so i do need to remember to get that if they're actually warding. Seems like most of the games we played the enemies weren't warding though. I already know about Sona's ult. I always try to get at least 3 people with it unless i need it to interrupt something like a Nunu or Kat ult. I usually manage to get close to the whole enemy team with it, i think i only messed it up one time in all the games we've played. I used to be able to deal with just supporting, but I don't feel that I can do that forever. I want to be reliant on myself and able to play roles where I make a noticeable difference. In my roughly 275 normal games, I've maybe been given a compliment on my performance twice. I guess what I'm trying to say is that I'm trying really hard to break out of this support mess I've gotten myself into, but the growing pains hurt and it feels like I'm doing more harm than good to my teams by trying to do something different. I just need more games with him to see what I can and can not withstand and how good I am with E. Bio I currently stick to nothing but solo top and I've found it's done wonders for my game. You learn to how fend for yourself, watch wards and ward properly, last hit properly, and the best of all you learn matchups. You can either counter pick or get counter pick and funny enough the best is when you get counter picked. Nothing forces you to play harder and smarter than something like Picking Trynd and going up against Malphite Picking Plank and fighting Pantheon Picking Irelia and seeing Vlad Plus, when you dominate top you can essentially remove one person from all mid game activities. It's a good feeling and the sense of accomplishment is always there. Mid lanes can just roam top and bottom and jungle gank. Bottom lane has team mates. Solo top is ganked early and often and you are all alone. Trinity force gives him so much power early on because his Q will applies on hit effects, so the enemy is perpetually slowed from the Phage, plus you have one of the most mobile AD carries just hammering away at you. You're more likely to swing a game than they are. Poppy is good against anybody with minimal sustain, and people who can't get past her passive. You also don't want her against anything ranged because she pretty much can't win that. I'd probably take her against people like Irelia or Wukong. Granted, you can easily play her against most tops, but anybody you can free farm against is beneficial. As far as laning goes, don't be too aggressive unless you can get off a stun. Don't go too far out of your way to Q them but Q can be a great denying tool.
