I can never pick one over the other when it comes to OoT and MM because they both do different things better than each other. It becomes a matter of what I'm more in the mood for. But I definitely feel they do most things better than the other two. I don't dislike Wind Waker, but it's the most flawed of the four in my book.

Perhaps. Difficult to choose between it and Skyward Sword. It's like... Ocarina of Time had fewer flaws (and pretty much none really) while Skyward Sword did more things right, and the things it did right were bloody excellent. Both brilliant games, but one is more of a solid experience while the other has some niggles.

This is board 8 though, so most people will disagree with you. Because Majora's Mask.

SS SHOULD have been better than OoT as well, there's no excuse for some of the horrendous design flaws in that game with the dev cycle it had, but on a creative level it's one of the best games in the series.

OoT easily the best. Then MM, then TP, then SS, then WW. Very easy. No equal signs or multiple greater thans.

I can agree to this. Fire and Ice dungeons would've been amazing.

I think this is where I stand.

I am having real trouble with Skyward Sword vs ALttP/CT for #3, 4, and 5 all time.

It is definitely better than Final Fantasy IX, so that goes from 5 to 6, and therefore everything else drops one spot.

I believe it is Megaman 3 that was #40, and has now dropped out of my top 40 because of this.

I think right now, today, I would go

OoT
FF VII
CT
ALttP
SkyS

Making the Zelda line go OoT, ALttP, SkyS. But honestly, right now my #2 to 5 is so amazingly close, that if I play one of them it is possible any of them can go all the way to 2, or drop to 5, they are virtually dead even, especially ALttP and CT.


Finally, I just want to say how much of a ride SkyS gave OoT. At one point it was close, and I mean DAMN CLOSE to doing it. If that last fetch quest of the game was not just a hair too long, SkyS would be the best game of all time, or at the very least 1 or 1A with OoT. Even with it being a little longer than I was hoping, it was still a Masterpiece. By far the best game on the Wii, almost assuredly the game of this decade, and a really good shot to be the best game for the rest of my life (IE game of the century). We'll see.

It took LoZ in a new direction, and unlike OoT which was legit flawless, it did have one or two very minor issues, but like OoT, more than likely the next 4 generations will all copy it to the degree that no game in the series can touch it, till it gets another reboot.

This was the best game in 15 years. (since everything else in the top 5 precedes OoT), and one of the best ever.

The Dungeons in The Wind Waker were more about atmosphere which they all got right. design wise they were all at least okay. Though they were some of the easiest dungeons in the series.

But I personally think the Earth Temple is a top 10 worthy dungeon.
