Southeast is so weak, no wonder Winnipeg was fine with the realignment not going through. Still with the team mostly unchanged from last season it's almost like the fans are willing the team to the play-offs.

Well, the Thrashers finished -2 last year. Right now the Jets are what, +4? I don't think they've necessarily improved a whole lot, the East has just gotten a lot worse. Last year, the 8 seed Rangers finished with 93 points, or +11. This year, it's looking like +7-+8 will be good enough for the 8-seed, 89 or 90 points.

only the "goalie interference" on letang's first goal was a bad call; the skate-kicking rule might be a stupid rule, but it was right in calling off kunitz's goal.

also, columbus isn't very good. they played hard but we proved our superiority. thiessen was alright, too - he should definitely be starting ahead of johnson, since johnson's not likely to be around next year. let's see what we have now, and if he's worth keeping around as #2.

I'm kind of sad to lose Winnik/Galiardi but it wasn't unexpected. San Jose makes sense since they know first hand how Galiardi plays in the playoffs.

I'm glad to see Nashville getting some players to beef up their forwards.

Nashville made a couple good changes.

I'm fine with Brian Lee being gone... Matt Gilroy doesn't have too much to offer, but he's a decent enough fourth or fifth d-man and we were never gonna resign Lee anyway.

I think from Nashville's perspective it isn't necessarily a 1st for Gaustad but a 1st for an increased chance of re-signing Suter. The price is high for my liking but again if Nashville's makes a run in the playoffs and re-signs Suter then it was worth it.
