Derrick Rose, Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, Tim Duncan, or Dwight Howard?
Kobe and Tim are in their primes for this question.

yeah I put LeBron over Durant for a reason.
LBJ or Howard would be my choice. They're going to dominate the next decade like Olajuwon and MJ did the '90s. -- SuperNiceDog shoots the lights out ... Copied to Clipboard!

Durant is one of my favourite players in the NBA but Lebron is definitely better than him and he makes his teammates better.

If I am trying to win a title this year
Rose, Lebron, Wade, Kevin Love, Dwight Howard for starters Lemarcus Aldridge, Rondo, Bynum, Marc Gasol, Blake, John Wall for my bench Building for future championships and a strong team over the next few years Rose, Curry, Kevin Durant, Blake Griffin, Demarcus Cousins for starters Rubio, Wall, Deandre Jordan, Paul George, Ryan Anderson, Joakim Noah, and Marcus Thorton I'd also want Isiah Thomas, but my team is guard heavy as it is and I don't know how Rubio and Wall handle the 2. And from your list just to build around I would go in this order Rose, Lebron, Howard, Kobe, Duncan Edit- I would want Pekovic on my bench too >_> -- Circle gets the Scare! Howard or Duncan for their position alone, though I would give the nod to Howard despite Duncan being a more well-rounded player This. You pay a high premium to acquire a great center and they have perhaps the greatest impact on the game. Defensively they have the ability to alter the game completely and play the perimeter more effectively with less help on the interior. Offensively if they dominate and can pass decently they can kick out when they're double or tripled. And if played straight up can take it for an easy basket. Guards and forwards are a dime a dozen. I could get someone like Calderon to run my point if I wanted. And just get other players who are good at defense, can shoot the ball and don't chuck like Kobe. Maybe get one athletic guard who has the ability to drive fearlessly to open up the defense. -- http://www.last.fm/user/VinnyMendoza "This is all we have... when we die.." ... Copied to Clipboard!

There's an argument to be made for Duncan, but I'd rather have prime Howard as big men are concerned, and if LBJ gets a string of titles together he can match up to Jordan without getting laughed at.
I want to see Howard with a competent supporting cast. That would be a treat to watch. I'd honestly be happy to see the Bulls give up, say, Boozer and Noah and picks for him. -- SuperNiceDog shoots the lights out ... Copied to Clipboard!

Duncan.
At his absolute peak, he posted the 6th best defensive rating of all time. Among active NBA players, he's #1. For career defensive rating, he's #3. Second in active win shares (behind only Kevin Garnett), Third in active win shares per 48 (behind Chris Paul and LeBron James). Fourth among active players in Defensive Rebound Percentage. From 1997-2010, didn't finish outside the 10 in player efficiency save one year, finished in the top 5 nine of those years. Second among active players in blocks per game (2.2), trailing only Marcus Camby. I could go on but I won't. -- TheRock ~ Slow dramatic zoom-pan. Doesn't phase the hooded man. Duncan flirted with free agency iirc
back when jason kidd was in the final year of his first nets contract, there was talk of the clippers going after kidd and duncan to team up with elton brand. I wanna say this was around 2003. The clippers had a **** ton of money at the time with a bunch of expiring contracts, and duncan and kidd were both free agents that year. -- Pride. Passion. Excellence.
