Does Vega's claw make that much of a difference that he's only in the A tier with it? I know when he lost it during a match in the old versions, it didn't seem like it changed much.

I think you're misinterpreting what (Claw) means. In America the names of Balrog, Bison, and Vega were switched around compared to how they are in Japan. So the community decided to use the terms Claw, Boxer, and Dictator for those three to eliminate confusion.

But I guess that doesn't matter, because I see what you mean now about the two fan bases talking. I always forget how common Google translator is, so I guess it's pretty easy for them to interact on a regular basis now. I've done it a few times myself and it works really well.

I always heard that the imports cost less. I haven't been to any Asian country besides Thailand, but some of my other friends who told me about the Chinese and Japanese countries they went to said that street vendors are always selling their native versions of games and movies for really cheap. Like, really really cheap. Maybe only a couple dollars for a full game that costs 60 here. I just always assumed they were all cheap.

allow me to save this topic from the trainwreck it has turn into

Cammy, Fei, Seth, Adon is an awful top tier. If we see a large amount of those characters in the next year of tournaments god help us. 3/4 of those characters are bad.

Now, Makoto and Ibuki being A tier, I approve.

also, thank you Capcom for looking at AE Chun, saying "she definitely needs to be worse" and making her almost bottom tier. she definitely needed the nerfs. I guess.

on the bright side Blanka is also almost bottom tier. **** you Blanka. isn't he Mike Ross's new main chicken? whoops!

I've been out of the SF4 loop for awhile, so I really can't agree or disagree with the list.

Just generally though, most of this list seems plausible, with maybe the exception of Akuma.

my personal opinion is that Fei Long, Seth, Ryu and maybe Akuma should be top, with a ton of guys not far behind (Rufus, Viper, Sagat). Adon being top kinda blows my mind and Cammy seems more like an A tier than S. I'll need to see a dominant Cammy because I haven't yet.

I think they should stop coming out with tier lists since it seems newer players take them as concrete truth even if it says not to on the same damn page and it becomes more of a character choosing guideline.

I used to really like them because I'd want some kind of organized consensus on character rankings but my liking of them has decreased over time. >_>

Oil in beginning was a very nice buff but it didnt fix his main issues.
I disagree with Seth being S tier though. He's still basically a walking momentum mindgame that can break immediately.

How did Cammy get that much better after removing her TKCS? That move was standard for any awesome Cammy player I saw. Are her buffed normals that good, or did everyone around her just get worse?

her new links are baller, and when combined with the return of her old hk arrow, you get some very nice damage. she also has amazing wakeup pressure with her dive kicks (even with the height restriction). I dunno about top of s tier, but she has a very good pressure game against anyone once she gets a knockdown.
