It's going to be damn hard to top Ezio, that's for sure. Especially since I read he's going to be the strong, silent type.

Also, yes, Revelations was much, much better than this trailer. Then again, it was one of the best trailers of all time so it's hard to top that.

If I'm to understand correctly, AC3 is supposed to be closure to all the current storylines for Desmond and the whole "end of the world 2012" thing.

Any games beyond this one probably won't feature Desmond anymore. Think of this as the MGS4 of the Assassin's Creed series: provides closure to most running storylines, and any future games in the series will probably be prequels and/or gaiden stories.

The last game ends with the third member of Those Who Came Before explaining to Desmond that the Grand Temple is where they researched ways to prevent the disaster that wiped them all out and most of the humans, and it happens to be located in New York (where Desmond and his dad are at the end of the game). The development team has also stated they wanted to get the game out before December 2012 because that's the disaster date in the game. The whole point of Revelations was for Ezio to receive the message about the Grand Temple so Desmond could see it and know what to do to save the world.

Desmond is seriously the worst part about AC. The whole future plot is tbh.

AC1 I couldn't care less about the future plot.

AC2 onward, it's so ridiculous it's almost engaging. At this point I wouldn't want to play an AC game with no future plot.

I have to admit, I do kind of like how out of place the assassin's cloak is in the 1770s. I mean, I know it was never inconspicuous to begin with, but I seriously hope that AC4 will be about Desmond in the modern day in the exact same white cloak, blending into a sea of office workers in business suits.

I hadn't seen that picture. It still looks out of place, but you're right, it's a lot better than I said. The hood is still ridiculously conspicuous, though. If they make more games set in other time periods, I'll be interested to see if they continue to try to make the assassin hood look legitimate and logical.

And you can't take away the hood. It's too iconic to the assassin look, even if it's impractical and makes him stick out like a sore thumb.

I mean, good lord, in the games you look like a walking arsenal, moving around carrying swords, knives, daggers, and in later games crossbows and bombs. Forget the hood, if I'm a guard and I see a heavily armed man I'd probably think "This guy is going to f*** some people up."

Yeah hookblade was cool, but it was definitely just good as a one-time gimmick. It didn't really add that much to the game in the end. It's possible it might go back to just 1 hidden blade + tomahawk, but I dunno, those dual-blade kills are too good. In some pictures you see Connor with the hidden blade gauntlet thing only on his left arm, but in others like the boxart, he has the gauntlet on both arms, so that might be an indication of dual blades again.

Also yeah the trademark Assassin look has to have that hood with the beak, and the two tails on the back, so that he looks like an eagle when jumping. Beyond that, I guess they can change anything, but I doubt they will ever make a design that isn't obviously Assassin, especially since they love putting these huge Assassin belt buckles on the guys.

It sped up climbing, especially getting up larger buildings.

I do agree that it's use outside of that is limited (though flipping over guards and tripping civilians is fun as hell).
