the wii is actually better than the gamecube.

I think metroid prime being the best game on either system is what made me hold on to that for so long, but other than metroid going to hell with other m and brawl doing about as badly to that franchise..SS is better than either GC zelda easily, galaxies are better than sunshine, xenoblade and TLS bring a revival of JRPGs, and it's the best console for platformers since the SNES

still missing star fox and f-zero though :/ not that the GC star foxes were great but at least they tried!

If there's still no news about a F-Zero or Star Fox at this year E3 I'll lose all hope.

I tried to convey my thoughts but there are limits to the english language...

but yeah, the wii is just really unbalanced. disappointing on some fronts, but very strong in platformers and good inJRPGs

I will never understand WW's cult. it has the worst dungeons of the 3D games, the worst overworld, the worst method of traversing that overworld, the worst fetch quest

aside from ganon being at his most awesome I really don't get it

Great graphics, Link & crew have the best character development of any game in the series, expanded on OoT's combat, and thanks to the art style, has aged visually better than a lot more "serious" games from the era.

Artistically I find it the most visually pleasing, it's got a ton of charm and the sense of adventure and atmosphere is much greater in it than in SS.

from developer quotes I've read in both eras(sakamoto between SM and now), it seems to not be a fluke, he's just a different person now with different philosophies on what metroid should be.

The fan backlash was so big over the game that hopefully he'll reexamine what made the series so promising. It's not a big hope, but I clung to the hope that Adam was going to turn out to be a mind-controlling robot, I can cling to this!

(and to make it even worse, you actually -do- run into a mind-controlling robot in Other M...)

But yeah, if we take BC into consideration, you still have to deal with the controller.

And I know I'm in the minority, and while I wasn't a huge fan of it, I had way more fun with Mario Sunshine than I did with Galaxy.

I like sunshine in places, I think galaxy is more consistent though

GameCube has Melee and Custom Robo.

The only possible argument I can see for Wii being better is that it has backwards compatibility.

ToS, Pikmin, RE4, superior Paper Mario game.

Also you can't backward compatibility as not all wii's have it.

I'm not big into resident evil but pretty much everyone tells me the wii version is far superior

I still have to give the gamecube being much more balanced, as I said, the wii stacks almost all of its good games into two genres

The wii does have Kirby's Return to Dreamland, which was pretty much the best game for the system last year!

I honestly can't decide

I have wayyy more Wii games than GCN games (100 vs 50), but Gamecube has tons of my all-time favourite games. Wii has Xenoblade though, which is better than anything on the Cube.

I'd probably say Gamecube > Wii, but as far as Nintendo offerings go Wii definitely beats Gamecube.

Either way they're both superior to N64 of NES.

my statement stands

BC is always good, I basically have 25 years of my favorites all in one console. too bad the U won't have GC functionality, don't understand why they can't just software emulate it since the WII is already emulated on PC

Not counting BC.

Gamecube has Timesplitters 2 and FP.

Wii literally can't compete with that.
