Specifically with how they've decided to handle social links. I can't seriously complain about how they're spending dungeon time, since it is what it is.
I'm cool with not spending an entire episode on Naoki, for example, because f*** him, but are you seriously going to relegate his entire social link to three minutes of the camping trip? And this wouldn't bother me so much if I hadn't already noticed that non-main characters fall off the face of the earth once the protagonist is finished with them. Kou's was probably worse when it comes to time trial social links, since he did a complete 180 just because he lost a basketball game and they had to completely obliterate any reference to his family situation outside the "they don't like basketball" thing.
Just doesn't feel right.

Yeah the anime felt like a poor mans version of the game. I'd have rather had something Trinity Soul-ish than a re-creation of the game.

The social links are generally poorly done, though I find the second half is a bit more solid in terms of pacing, etc. I still think it's perfectly fine, though.

The anime is fine if you want to relive P4 without replaying P4. Otherwise its really just a poor substitute for the actual game.

From: RappinHobo9292 | #006 What is your opinion on Yu?
Yu is fine. He doesn't have as much flavor as the rest of the cast, but that itself is unique. And episode 12 gave him some legitimate character development, so I approve of that.
From: Big Bob | #010 I watched the first episode of the anime, and felt like if I hadn't already played the game, I wouldn't be able to follow the events.
And this is pretty much true for everything I've seen so far, honestly.

eh I'd say the pace improved right after episode 1

It tends to zigzag.
Like, everything involving Yukiko's disappearance was paced pretty well and I'd argue that I like its presentation better than the original.
But then you have cases like when King Moron dies and I feel as if, had I not played the game, I only would have realized that he was killed half way through the episode because very little attention was drawn to it outside of the context of "Oh no we were wrooooooong"
