Yeah well, with what happened to said character, of course the personality will be different. And its not like it was even that important of a character, I would have been fine never seeing them again.
Basically the way you were talking I thought it would be something major like... Tenzin is evil, or Mako died, or Korra gother bending taken away. Awww yeah, another great episode! And we actually got to see a decent glimpse of Tenzin's fighting style! I'm angry that he got taken out super fast again, but at least we saw how he fights, and it looks awesome! Going to be totally cool when he gets his first legit fight.

No, Mako is pretty freakin' lame so far. I want to like him because of who he's named after but it's just not working for me. He's hot as hell when he's bending or anything action-related, but every time he opens his mouth it's like ugh. Take today's episode for example: Korra's all, "Yo, that guy is evil" and instead of looking into it or even humoring her he's all "Nuh uh u jelly! Now we can't be friends no mo."

Okay so it's less that he is realistic and more that he is relatable. If I had a super hot super rich girlfriend after a life of living in poverty and hanging out with Bolin all the time, I would also dismiss any notion that her father was a terrorist, especially when there's no evidence against him. The only thing is that Korra is the Avatar, so she should really get more respect... but Mako saw how jealous she got previously, so that canceled out. Also it seems like no one cares about the Avatar anymore, except Tarlokk.

An adult who has basically been lied to for over half of her adult life. For a reaction that's actually great in a similar situation to this, I'd suggest Repo! The Genetic Opera. Without spoiling a whole lot, I'll just say the daughter's reaction when she discovered her father had been keeping something horrible from her for seventeen years was one of wrath- she yelled, threw s*** at him, basically disowned him, and stormed off. I'm not saying Asami's reaction had to be that drastic, but a slightly pouty face and a "Dad, stop! ... why?" is just way too understated for a defining moment like that. She just seems way too calm and collected- like absolutely nothing phases her, and I actually prefer Katara's melodrama to Asami's subtlety so far. It's kind of inhuman how unflappable she is, really. That's kind if why I called her an automaton earlier. I would honestly not be surprised at this point if Hiroshi Sato "built" his daughter. That would be a cool twist- either that or the entire thing was an act and she knew her father was an Equalist, and the entire betrayal thing was part of his complicated ploy... Yeah, dudette. The real Asami was killed along with her mother the night of that Agni Kai firebending raid. The grief-stricken Sato, refusing to accept this built an exact replica of his daughter- no! He made her even prettier than she would actually be and imputed virtual memories and s***. Hell, he can make automobiles and platinum golems. A robot almost indistinguishable from a human can't be that farfetched!
