I don't really see that as being a possibility. If word got round that the TTT leader still had his bending powers (and him being a gang leader, it would), Amon would be a standing joke and the revolution would be over before it begun.

It's probably just some kind of mental block that super amazing main character benders can over come. Like, I'm Korra, oh I lost my bending f*** you Amon *meditates* oh wait it's back jk.

Oh yeah, I don't doubt the Avatar is effectively immune to having their bending removed, but I'm much more sceptical about whether the other main characters would ever get theirs back.

We've determined that Asami is too hot to not be a traitor at some point. My guess would be romantic foil for Korra/Mako, but then that eventually happens, she's all scorned, and gets recruited.
Thank you for main villain connectivity and relationship with the protagonist Avatar! The one thing I thing that could probably be described as the first series only flaw is already being addressed, and in quite the awesome way. I absolutely love the reasoning for not taking her bending, because I was expecting something lame, but he spit truth. All benders would rally and annihilate the revolution, so I thought it was well done.
Even after seeing the pictures posted in here beforehand, my body still wasn't ready for bearded Aang. I just...when he starts talking I just don't know what's going to happen to me.
I think Amon has some legitimate method that's not quite energybending to do what he's doing. I'm thinking there's some angry/evil/jealous/(adjective) spirit out there in the spirit world that figured something out or had something to begin with, and managed to get it or a version of it to Amon because he was a powerful enough vessel to wield it. Tenzin won't get his taken, if not because of Korra's training/need, but because Airbending is once again f***ed because a master wouldn't exist. My guess is some other councilman (maybe even that taskforce bastard just to make us feel bad).
Speaking of, I don't think the water tribe should be getting two councilmen. Earth Kingdom is by far the biggest, and there's probably more firebenders than waterbenders too. White Lotus rep I say.

Kind of a lame episode IMO aside from the teaser flashback images at the end. This might be a product of the short season, as I feel like it would have worked better if we had two episodes, one focusing on Asami and the pro-bending team and one focusing on the taskforce.

Well after making Amon a public enemy that is justifcation enough if there is an unground martial arts school that is flying his colors. (Supporting a fugitive etc...)
That thought crossed my mind when we were first introduced to the martial artists, but then we see the gigantic image of Amon on the wall. They can't reasonably argue they're not revolutionaries with that there.

Just watched it. This episode was severely lacking in action much unlike the previous three. There was the chi-blocker raid and... Korra's feeble resistance against Amon's forces and... that's it. I understand the need to develop the plot and all, but there needed to be more balance. Don't really like Asami or Tarlokk right now and not just because one of them is getting all up on Korra's man either. Sato was p cool though, and satomobile is an awesome name. XD
Has anyone here mentioned Koh the face stealer yet? It's not my theory, but one I read online. Maybe Amon sold his face to learn energybending or whatever it is he's doing. That would be an awesome twist IMO

I agree. I actually think that with the more serious and "non-episodic" style they're using now, the show would be better off with 40-45 minute long episodes. Sometimes feels like there's too much stuff being crammed in.

He still has his eyes, though.
Also, the Airbender kids need their own five-minute short skits.

Eh, the airbender kids are kinda lame. Isn't the story that Amon lost his face to a firebender (ala Zuko)? I think that's what the show said. Not that it makes it true but.

I actually remember hearing that the Face Stealer would be involved in Korra somehow a long time ago from some news release from the creators. So the theory that Amon made a deal with him may actually be true.

If all they were doing was supporting his cause without a direct link they wouldn't be doing anything illegal in most free countries. Maybe these guys were but they certainly didn't show it.

Theoretically Republic City doesn't have as comprehensive of a Freedom of Speech as we do.
I don't think Korra's flashback was a coincidence. It took place at Aang's memorial so I think Aang is trying to reach out to her and tell her something. Unfortunately she sucks at being spiritual so he can only do it when she is at his memorial + knocked out. Aang knows who Amon is and possibly had to do with his creation. Maybe it has something to do with this "Yakon" guy that Aang "took care of" 42 years ago.
eh, I kind of hope there isn't. Or at least if there is a connection it leaves room to grow. As in they deal with Amon (somehow) but then the real connecting piece to Yakon is unveiled and a bigger plot unfolds. (somehow)
I would rather have the connections to past characters be there, but buried pretty deep. Otherwise this whole show would feel like too direct an extension of the previous.
I can't help but notice the Memorial Statue of him doesn't have a beard though. I don't really think he has one in the opening animation either, but it's hard to tell. I'm guessing he realized not everyone can have awesome Sokka face hair and ditches it.
two more locations unlocked in that Welcome to Republic City flash thing, nothing as mind-blowing as what was revealed in the unlocks from previous times but it talks about Toph a little bit. Last one unlocks next friday

Totally wasn't expecting it, but I genuinely felt bad for Bo Lin there even though that wasn't the most serious of moments. Also, those two were kind of cute together. >_>
Well that wasn't nearly as noxious as I thought it'd be. The idea of the whole love rectangle thing is still pretty bleh, but I can't say it was poorly executed. Also some nice action to break it up a tad always helps.
This was a strong episode for Bolin and Mako was pretty hurt by this. I do like the switching from Amon heavy stuff to the probending episodes. Hope they keep this up for at least season 1.
augh can't find any place to watch the episode online yet
I don't get it, Nickelodeon got episode 3 uploaded within hours of its airing, they didn't even get last week's up until a day or two later and it looks like probably the same deal here, and this time I can't even find any rips on other sites.
