100) Supergirl - Hannah Montana

Wow. Just wow. I thought the inclusion of potential prizes would inhibit people from nomming horrible things, but I thought wrong. There's always someone! firefdr... I don't know what I did to you to deserve this, or if there's some sort of karmic balance that needs to be restored by forcing me to stomach listening to this entire song, but dammit this was torture. I have in fact heard this song before, or at least a part of it. Allow me to explain how it went down that time. *music, music* Hannah: "You think I'm super?" Me: No. *click* The click was of course me changing the channel, because oh my god. But for the purposes of this list, you have forced me to sit through the entire song, as I have my integrity to maintain. Ah, the writeup. Where to start?

The lyrics are garbage. The music is garbage. The delivery is a tier or two above garbage (say what you will about her songs, but Miley Cyrus does have charisma if nothing else), but delivering garbage is still delivering garbage so ugh. I'm not one of "those" people who hate Miley/Hannah for no reasons other than who she is, and in fact I rather like a couple of her later songs- Party in the USA is a guilty pleasure of mine- but the after years as they were cannot make up for much of the stuff that came before, which, in this case is... You guessed it: garbage.

99) Cutting Edge - The Brave Little Toaster

This song... there's something I dislike about it, and I think it's the fact that it's just too busy for me. There's this underlying techno beat, which I can groove with for sure, but once everyone starts singing things just get too... complicated. Also I don't like the computer's voice. I've only ever seen TBLT once, and it was loooooooooong ago, so this song gets zero boost from nostalgia, which might explain why it's so low.

98) Feelin' Alive - Jonas Brothers

There's... actually nothing wrong with the song itself. The lyrics are fine, the score is decent. The problem here is the delivery. The song is called "Feelin' Alive", yet I feel dead. There's no passion in this performance, no nothing at all! I can't tell if the Jo Bros even want to be there. Are they sick? If so, why even get on stage with the promise of delivering something special to the audience? Well, I guess it was special in its own way. On a side note, the end solo by Nick (coincidentally my favorite Jonas Brother) wasn't bad at all, and was the highlight of thus drab mess of a song.

97) Gaston - Beauty and the Beast

Ah of course someone would nominate the one BatB song I'd dare to include in my bottom 30 of all time. This placement is purely biased and I'm not even going to try to claim otherwise. Here's the deal: I hate Gaston. Always have, even as a kid. He's everything I've never wanted in a man okay that's a lie, he's devilishly handsome and has a beautiful singing voice, but dammit that personality. He's the perfect antithesis to the Beast: beautiful on the surface, hideous within, and I despise him for it. The song wouldn't be so bad if it weren't praising someone who deserves none of it. Also Le Fou has the whiniest voice of any man ever.

96) Breaking Free - High School Musical

I never did really like HSM, even at the height of its popularity when everyone else was eating this franchise up. It was a'ight I guess. Unfortunately, it was also the beginning of the end for the Disney Channel. Right around the time this movie became popular, the fantastic animated shows and sitcoms of my past started being replaced by live action gunk. But enough of that. Regarding the song it's not actually terrible or anything. It's just slow. The two singers kind of harmonize but they kind of don't as the male lead is too nasaly to match up with the female lead. I just don't know how better to describe this, but for the song that's supposed to be the manifestation of the movie's climax, this kind of falls flat, and hard. Also the choreography is poop. I do love the lyrics though!

Gaston is one of the worst fictional characters of all time. I threw a party the day I found out he wasn't in KH2, and I don't even play the series!

I knew Gen hated Gaston. That's why I didn't nominate the song. No biggie. I feel like he's the perfect antagonist to a perfect film, but also, "I hate how he treats Belle, but can't help but love how camp and flamboyant he is during his song."

I agree with Pokewars. I really would despise the guy in real life, but he fits perfectly in the movie and the song fits him completely. For me the song deserves better ranking. The other 4 are crap, in that she's correct :-D

To be honest I'm not incredibly upset about seeing Cutting Edge so low, because I feel that its main advantages have been pulled off better elsewhere. Such as with this:

Ugh children singing, and some in such shrill voices. There's not much to the lyrics either- it's mostly gibberish and I'm not the hugest fans of gibberish songs. Well most of these childrens' voices aren't too bad actually. They're all at the very least on-key even if one or two are a little too high-pitched for my tastes, but the song... I don't like it.

Alright, in retrospect, I might've been a little too harsh putting Breaking Free below these last two. However, I feel this song is a little better executed than that number. The lyrics aren't very good, no. In fact it's pretty much the same point repeated ad infinitum, but these two harmonize better than Zac and Vanessa imo. Plus there's one major thing giving this song a boost over others: it's intentionally bad. Everything from the botched choreography to the forced diabetic sugary sweet sound of the female lead's voice is designed to make the viewer uncomfortable. It kind of works for it rather than against it for me though, lol.

Another gibberish song. Tweedle Dee and Dum don't have the most dulcet of voices, but hell despite that I kind of liked the song. But wait, why so low then? The accompanying video. Child murder makes me sad and that fat lazy walrus gets away with it because the carpenter is an idiot.. Where's the justice in this? Nowhere! Where's the moral? Don't be curious- what kind of moral is that!? Gibberish song + bad ending + Tweedleplease & Tweedledon't = low ranking

More gibberish! YEAH! And still one more to come. What this gibberish song has over others is nostalgia. Even though the lyrics are inconsistent and mostly nonsensical (you dig, dig, dig, dig, dig-a dig, dig, but you don't know what you're digging for? You just said it was to get rich!), the accompanying imagery helps with it out a lot. Dopey is pretty adorable. Both the bridge (dig, dig) and chorus (heigh ho) cheery and upbeat, and I tend to like cheery and upbeat songs even if they're meaningless so... yeah.

For every ten Disney songs I rank, I'll be giving out an HM to a non-Disney song that I personally enjoy. First up: Princess Fiona's song from Shrek. Cameron Diaz's voice is soft and fluffy at first, but then becomes powerful enough to explode birds apparently! I love the tone of it, and though this song is short it's pretty sweet. I really like it, and obviously Dreamworks Studios did too because it's kind of become their anthem.

Also, I'll be giving the obvious snubs that no one nominated honorary placements within the list.

The last gibberish song (I think)! What sets this apart from the others is that it's set to a funky beat. And I like Merlin. He's pretty cool for an old guy, and his interactions with Archimedes easily makes for an A+ scene (but not an A+ song). Man I never realized what a ***** that sugar teapot was before! This is the coolest way to pack.

Oh Disney... this isn't racist at all! Look at dem teefs. The score is actually pretty nice, very Eastern, but the lyrics make me facepalm. "Do you seeing that thing swimming round and round?" Oh my... That said, I do have a bit of a sense of humor, and these bad kitties are nothing but humor which is why this avoids the bottom ten.

This is actually sung pretty damn well. Demi Lavato has some pipes, but she does sound a bit nasally. Still she and Joe harmonize pretty well and the song is decent. I like a lot of songs more than this one, either due to nostalgia or some other factor, so there you have it.

Random note: "No more hiding" uses the exact same chord as another song I'm familiar with so I kept expecting "So much for my happy ending" afterwards, not that this added or subtracted anything at all from the ranking.

I've always loved the first part of this song. It's dark and mysterious, low, and pretty much perfect. And then after little transition, it goes in a completely different direction and gets all upbeat and chanty. Then it goes up an octave... and another! The vocalist just keeps getting higher and higher every time he says "Ch-ch-ch-chip and Dale"- is he imitating a chipmunk? Blargh, I liked the mood before. :( That said, Chip and Dale was a part of my childhood so nostalgia boosts it over some of the undesirables and things I have no fond childhood memories of.

This song is... busy. There's a lot going on in it, and I've gotta say while I love certain sections of it, others bring it down. For example I lurve Miss Spider's solo, but I don't have so much love for the lady bug's voice or Mr. Centipede's which keeps interrupting everybody else's- dammit you had your chance already!

Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah, Zip-a-Dee-Day! This song is cheerful, merry, and gay! Oops, there was one more gibberish song: the quintessential Song of the South (which I have never seen but have heard of many-a-time). Well, there ain't much to it at all, but the song fills me with glee and makes me want to skip down a road barefoot. It's the truth, it's factual. This song is satisfactual- that is until it's ruined by a chorus of tone deaf children toward the very end. WHY!?

I love the late Eartha Kitt and it pains me to rank a song of hers so low, but I feel I must. This song starts too slow for my tastes and the prelude is way too breathy- meaning Eartha could take some lessons from Tay Zonday's school of facing away from the microphone whenever she needs to inhale. Anyway, I do love the concept of this song and I feel it had potential, but I can kind of see why it was cut from the movie. Love the chorus though. If I could just cut out that prelude this would be ten spots higher.

This is a beautiful song, but it's also extremely slow. I just can't get into slow songs like this because they start to bore me after a minute or so. Maybe I have ADD or something, because the lyrics are just fantastic, and the message is clear and realatable, and the visuals are stunning- the frame where Esmeralda's just gliding through the hall of lit candles is one of my favorited animated scenes ever, but this song just doesn't click for me. One thing that definitely puts me off is the last note of this song. I really hate when people go for high notes when they aren't necessary and in this case I kind of feel that way. Had "God" ended on the same note as the previous "God", this song would be at least ten spots higher.

Honestly, I would have been surprised if those two weren't at the bottom. All of my favourite songs were already nominated, so I just chose the first things that popped into my head - which happened to be gibberish, because my mind just works like that.

My sister used to be obsessed with the Siamese song, so I've kinda grown sick of it. Also, I firmly believe that at least 50% of all cats are pure evil and planning world domination.

You guys nominated a ton of bad stuff.
