Whoops, didn't see this topic before making mine!

Anyway, this is looking just absurdly good. Killer rendition of the main theme, amazing character design (seriously, Chrome/Marth are well on their way to being the best designed lords in the series), and beautiful cinematics. If those zombies turn out to be morphs and there's an Elibe connection here, this is going to far and away be the best game of the year.

It's actually his universe (Akaneia) in the distant future. There are also bonus characters from FE4/5 and rumors that this ties into Elibe (and possibly Magvel), making it a potential crossover cluster****!

I'm actually not convinced if that really is Marth, with him suddenly being voiced by a woman from the voice clips here:

Yes, I know that this VA, Yuu Kobayashi, is known for voicing young males, but it doesn't make much sense to suddenly change when he already had a well established VA.

Plus his build looks a lot smaller, moreso than what he was like in Melee/Brawl/Shadow Dragon.

And if this game were to take place after FE3, he shouldn't be so young looking to begin with.

Oh and before anyone rags on Krom's name, you should know that it's pronounced like Chrome.

It's a fusion of FE8 and FE11: while a "normal" promotion (with a Master Seal) will give the unit access to two different classes, there's also a Change Proof that will open up more diverse (but still limited) promotion options a la FE11's class change system. These will presumably be limited in number, and can be used even after a unit has promoted (so, for example, a paladin could change to a great knight at any given time).

Personally, I think this is a really unique system which should work well.

I actually really like the sound of this. I always had a problem with FE11/12's class change system in that it made most of the units pointless and the rest not as unique. FE8's system always seemed to give you that choice of play style, while still maintaining most of the uniqueness of units, so this seems like a very good thing.

The more I hear about this game the more I like it.

That sounds great if they balance it decently. I thought both FE8 and FE11 had good ideas with their promotion/reclassing systems (well, FE2 had the split promotion path thing first, sort of) but it was usually pointless because one option was blatantly superior to the other. Here's hoping they give us choices that are actually meaningful this time.

Hm? FE8's options were pretty well balanced, especially when you consider that one tends to be better for CC and the other for the main game.

CC is basically irrelevant since you can very quickly just cap everything and auto-win. There are some real choices, but a lot of them are stuff like "do I pick Sniper and continue to have no enemy phase in a game where enemy phase is huge, or pick Ranger and not suck?" or "hi I'm Gerik, do I pick Ranger for no reason or be Hero?" or anyone who has a choice between Assassin and a class that's actually good.

CC can be fun! Max cap roflstomping is always a good time.

Of all the choices available, Sniper/Ranger is probably the only obvious one. Assassin has lockpick utility over Swordmaster, and Ranger has additional movement.

CC is fun, yeah, but it's not really interesting in terms of promotion choice because everyone becomes god mode, so the only really meaningful class distinction is Bishop and its triple damage on everything.

Nintendo has confirmed StreetPass and SpotPass support for Fire Emblem: Awakening.

Through StreetPass, custom “My Unit” characters players create can be swapped with other users. These characters will be added to your army. As far as SpotPass is concerned, Nintendo will be distributing a number of gaiden maps through the online feature.
