I really like Kanz's theory, but I find it unlikely that the killer murdered Ryoko right in the dorm hallway, with a dozen potential eyes surveying the scene. We do need to explain, however, why the killer moved the body to the laundry room (assuming they did). Here's what I think happened.
I think the killer actually murdered Ryoko in their own room. Let's recap:
- Ryoko went out of her room towards the bath/on the 2nd floor. One or the other doesn't matter. She's crawling back to her room and happens to pass over the culprit's room, also dropping a bullet in Spiral's room on her way. That shows that she had her gun with her (this is important). - Either the culprit or Ryoko tries to seize the occasion and off someone else. Ryoko has her gun: she fires a shot (which Spiral hears) and misses. Murderer grabs their knife and stabs Ryoko in the heart. He stashes her body in their bathroom for the time being. - Killer fears for his life and is anxious to avoid a second room search. The following night, he then surveys the scene and decides to stash Ryoko's body in the laundry room when the coast is clear.
Only thing that we still need to explain is the presence of the fat suit with Ryoko. My guess for now is that she had it with her when crawling (in case she saw other people and didn't want to admit to not being fat). That would also explain why she was clumsy enough to drop a bullet in Spiral's room (assuming it was an accident).
Reposting my theory.

since I have to get up for class in 6 hours I'll be going now. I'll definitely be back around before the trial ends to check on things and finalize my vote on the Ryoko murder (still leaning Kan since it fits in line with (EDIT: Derp, not Solf's theory. Actually it was Kan's own theory) from last topic)

Today someone should work on finding out who exactly has knives, by the way this could help a lot. I doubt the killer is dumb enough to have brought the murder with him to the trial but go ahead and search everyone if you can anyway.
There's six knives we have to account for.

I think I recall someone mentioning Silver had one when you guys fought the lion? That would be good because that removes one that couldn't have belonged to the killer. Which means we need to find out who the other two that had knives were.

Alright well I'm going to have to start making dinner soon. Not sure how much I'll be around between now and the end of the round but hopefully we can make at least a little bit of progress until then. If not, though
##Vote: Ryoko:Kanzaris
just in case. I really haven't found any other theory that anyone posted so far that I find to be too convincing. Kan fits in just about any theory that someone came up with, and he has been acting scummy as hell. Maybe I'm wrong, but unfortunately we have less to go on here than I would like.

From: Dark_Spiral | #022 So are we really assuming Ryoko went to the second floor and fed the lion?
The chocolate is the weirdest thing about this situation, yeah. I keep thinking it makes sense that Regaro could have killed her and went upstairs to feed the chocolate to his lion as well as get rid of whatever he used to kill her. But I dunno. I never found a murder weapon upstairs either or anything he could have used to dispose of it. So I'm not sure it fits. Plus there's something else bugging me that makes me think Regaro couldn't be the culprit.

Why is someone going to face down a lion though? The feline is obviously starving, and I'm starting to lean Ryoko did do it just because she was the only one who could feed it without risking their lives.(She could just feed it from the vent and drop it down.)
It's possible but unfortunately that doesn't help us narrow anything down. I'm operating right now based on the assumption that with multiple people watching various areas that night, whoever did this had to have been very lucky and very fast.
Who do we know that is very fast? Exactly.

From: Dark_Spiral | #028 but we need to start getting a timeline of where Tom has gone during the nights.
Tom has been very inactive the entire game. Maybe this is metagaming but, yeah: At first I just assumed he was being scummy, but now I feel like there's no way he could have pulled this off just based sheerly on the fact that he's barely been paying attention to the game at all. I mean, we have a few hours left to vote or he auto-dies and he hasn't even checked into the topic.
From: Dark_Spiral | #029 Also, was Kanz part of the group that went to kill the lion?
I don't believe so. And I never left my room that night. So yeah, the downstairs area was pretty empty and would have given him ample opportunity to move the body out of his room.

Alright, time for some revelations. Here's why I think there's some merit to Kanz's theory.
Dexter had a knife. He used it to kill the lion - it should be in whatever update KP quoted. And yet he never really showed that knife before. Never admitted he had it - contrary to the others who we know had/have a knife. Here's an additional bit of info.
Biscuit and I came to the second stairwell last night at 22:19. Dexter was already there. He was inputing the password just as we came upon the gate. This means he had arrived perhaps a few seconds before us... And yet we never saw him when we left our room at 22:07 (or at least I never got an update from Haguile on this matter, even though I've bothered him on that). It takes 12 minutes to go from the dorms to the gate; it took him 19 minutes. What did he do during that seven minutes?
I think Dexter used that time to move the body from his room to the laundry room, and then go to the second floor to get an alibi ("I was out of my room to go to the second floor").

That's why I pulled my vote off of Tom. If we lose because an inactive though, ugh. I don't think he put the body in his room. somewhere else maybe. Just too risky for someone to open their door and see him carrying a corpse. What I think happened is he carried the body the long way around the doors(circling around) to the cafeteria. He goes to the kitchen, puts the body in the freezer. Everyone else is all over the place, it's the safest route to make sure the body isn't found.(No one's looked at the freezer once during the game.)
The next night hits, he realizes that there are only so many places that can be searched before Ryoko is found, so he uses the same route he did prior, only this time to get to the laundry room without being seen. As for the knife, it's probably still on the first floor somewhere or with him now.
Let me ask you something, why is a guy who just committed murder going to face a lion head on? All he needs to do is lay back, wait for the trial, and he wins. He charged at the damn lion, risked his life after he'd already risked it once prior. I think he could come up with a better alibi that doesn't require putting himself in harm's way with a starving lion.
We still have one knife unaccounted for, discarding the theory that some Unknown Trap X was used to make Ryoko appear as if she had been stabbed by a knife for the express purpose of fooling me. KP can't kill and his knife was more like a sword. Solf I can't say anything for (if he has it with him now he can show you the knife, and if it has no Ryoko blood on it then he could be cleared theoretically). I sprayed my knife with Luminol, on camera. Silver cannot be the culprit. Dexter is already dead so unfortunately we can't get anything out of him.
I think whoever has the last knife, if they have it on them right now, needs to show it to everyone else in the trial room to prove there's no blood on it (Solf needs to do the same to clear himself as well). To do otherwise is as good as confirming that you either disposed of or hid the knife somewhere after using it to kill Ryoko.

I think he didn't have a choice. My gut is that Ryoko crawled above Dexter's room. She tries to shoot him (either because she wants to kill him or because Dexter attacked first); Spiral hears a shot. After a fight, Dexter manages to stab Ryoko. Since it's late into the night (Ryoko was coming back from the second floor, so it should have been after 3:00 at the earliest), Dexter doesn't want to go out and risk being spotted.
However, he's afraid that we'll do another room search the following day. Which is why he hides the body in the laundry room. And while he's doing that, he hears Biscuit and I coming along, hurries to the second pad and tries to input the password to have a reason for being outside.

I don't see why Ryoko wouldn't shoot me. I was the one hunting her, I was out of it. I was a sitting duck, there was no reason for her not to get rid of me if she intended to murder someone.
Not sure I buy Dexter as the killer. Nobody who is on the verge of graduating rushes at a lion, imo.

I think Ryoko didn't want to kill you so bad. In fact, she didn't make an attempt to kill me either despite the fact that I was vehemently trying to capture the Spider-Man as well. Judging by the fact that she dropped a bullet in your room randomly and potentially even went out of her way to feed chocolate to a lion that was in a place she shouldn't have been able to access, I honestly think she was just having fun trying to screw with us on the night she happened to be killed.
EDIT: Hell, she has no REASON to try and kill us since we were on the totally wrong path in terms of figuring out who the Spider-Man was. It was probably to her benefit to keep us alive and paranoid.

1. Maria knew about the smelling power in the game 2. Maria thought that Spiral had said power
I didn't. I was asking Spiral to smell people for wax because that's what me and Justin had talked about the night before, and since Justin was dead I figured it might help us find something out. One of Justin's powers was that he had coconut scented wax that he could put on things, and so if people touched that item or went to that place they would smell like the wax later.

Hrmm... You make a good point re: Dexter and the lion. I think he could have come with us to the 2nd floor to have an alibi ("I was outside to go to the 2nd floor, not to visit the laundry room to hide Ryoko's body"). However, when you simply have to hold out for a day to win, you don't indeed charge at a lion.
