Because that player is the number 1 player.

And the number 2 player, while consistently losing to the number 1, was still beating everyone else.

So, either the number 2 player is simply that (the second best player) or the number 1 player is the only true tennis player alive (and we know that's not true).

I think Nadal being up 5-4 in the fifth set of the Australian Open, Djokovic serving at 30-30 and just KNOWING Nadal would win the next two points is my "6-2."

And it hurts so bad.

i always find myself getting really invested into strong top 10-40 players. I'll see a game where someone will just blow me away with an impressive performance against a top 5 player and I'm instantly a fan. And then when they go on to become a top 5 player themselves I lose interest somewhat.

I was a pretty big Djok fan while he was on the rise, and now I'm pretty neutral towards him.

I think my favorite right now would be Nalbandian for numerous epic matches over the years. Baghdatis rose a lot in my esteem from the Djok match this week.
