I missed it the first time it was offered in Canada, and I noticed they brought it back with the "Zinger Double Down". It's basically the same except with two "spicy" chicken breast fillets, with spicy mayo and pepper jack cheese. I ordered it with a Poutine.

I wish I could really review it, but all I could think while I ate was "Why am I doing this to myself?" I can't even remember was it is like to be completely honest. But I know that I'm never going to eat one again. There is definitely such thing as ""too much chicken" and I learned that the hard way.

Yeah, that's kind of how I feel. I was so excited to try it, that I'm just kind of glad it's over. I remember getting about halfway through and thinking "Jesus Christ.. what have I gotten myself into?" and then I just kept at it. I actually did think of stopping at a point.. I mean, I was pretty full since a Poutine is kind of like a meal on it's own. But there was no way that I could live with myself if I didn't finish the job. I've never had a meal become such an... ordeal.

I actually felt kind of proud when it was all over. I felt a lot of other things as well... but mostly proud

People make way too big a deal out of this thing, like it's some sort of monster food that has never been created before and will destroy the world. Of course, this is board 8... home of the highly intelligent, physically fit, greatly endowed masses.

I've had it twice. First time it was alright, second time they overcooked the chicken and it was nearly too hard for me to eat.

Well, it's actually LESS food than eating two chicken sandwiches, which doesn't seem that abnormal.

Now try the Doublicious or whatever it's called. It's basically a Doubledown except one piece of chicken and with a bun. You won't regret eating that, I assure you.

Mind you, I think the Doubledown is fine too. But the other one is better.

The main problem with mine was probably the dryness. I thought the sauce in the middle would make a much bigger difference, but it seemed like it was barely even there. It probably would have been much easier if I was actually enjoying it, but it just felt like work. KFC has kind of sucked ever since they got rid of the "Classic" in favour of this "Original Recipe" crap. I'm not sure if you have the same menu in the States because I know Canadian and American McDonald's are basically two different restaurants.

As for eating two chicken sandwiches... I don't know anyone who does that regularly. I mean if it's something small like a Junior Chicken (I think it's called McChicken over there) I can understand eating 3 or even 5... but eating two regular sized chicken burgers (with fries and drink) is weird to me.

Sorry, I should have said "were". They revamped the entire menu about 4 years ago and they're quite similar now. But before this we had two chicken burgers the McChicken (which was full-size) and the "Crispy Chicken" which was something like the Crispy Chicken you have, except it didn't taste nearly as good. The junior chicken (your McChicken) didn't exist. The regular hamburgers, cheeseburgers and such were the same. The entire Angus line just didn't exist and neither did the Southern Style chicken (I still don't think we have this, whatever it is...). We did have the Big N' Tasty, but it was called the Big Extra... and then they got rid of it for about 3 years, and then it came back. I also have no idea what Chicken McBites are.

I'm just looking at the menu on the website though. I'm not sure about what promotional offers you get... but the last couple times I've been down there the menu just looked completely different. But the main thing is that none of it tastes the same. I don't know what the differences in the process are, but everything also tastes better over there.

This is preposterous. I've never tried one myself, but as obscene as the double down is, I very much doubt it is due to the chicken.

Had it once, only problem was it was so greasy that the skin of the chicken was sliding off before I could even bite into it. Have they offered the sandwich to be made with the "extra crispy" recipe yet? That's what I'm really looking forward to

this sounds incredibly delicious but hard to eat without having grease all over your hands

it does not sound monstrous or anything though. I could probably eat one and I have a pretty small appetite
