Venerdi (Friday) is pretty tame compared to the rest of them. Kind of surprised it was banned. Italy in general seems rather strict.

And then I read the rest of the list and saw that some countries have a set list of acceptable names, instead of just banning certain ones. Welp.

Not sure why you guys are 'booing' at countries having a list of acceptable names. Maybe you haven't considered what it's like being bullied your whole childhood over some name your (possibly drunk or high) parents thought was funny. And then having to wait til you're 18 so you can finally change your name and put that joke to rest.

I'm sure this is the same thing, somehow. Realize this list is taking extremes to help people agree with name banning; many countries actually do have unfair naming restrictions where common names in the US might not even be allowed there.

You can't tell me that girl won't get made fun of. So yeah, I'm all on-board with the policing of names. Especially after the inane things people name their characters in MMO's, which granted is not nearly as serious an environment as The Real World, but has at least left me with the notion of "all names must be name-like."

I met Talulah back before the name change, and the court order was definitely justified. That said, some of the things that "aren't acceptable" are odd. I have a half-sister named Tuesday, so apparently days of the week are fine here.
