This is like the 5th Nier soundtrack that's come out. Has there ever been a game where the music was this much more significantly popular than the game?

touhou, everything about touhou is more popular than the actual games. much more so than any other game too, there are hundreds of touhou arrangement albums released every year, about as many per year as are associated with nobuo uematsu's entire career, it's insane

haven't played nier since the PC is my current gen console of choice, but I do love the soundtrack! apparently people like me are kind of common...

I loved Nier's music before ever playing the game. I mostly enjoyed the game because it gave context to the music. Voice acting was cool too.

3rd one was really bad.
2nd had 2 good tracks, but one was a really nice 8 minute 8bit song.

no crappy distortions on every damn track like the 3rd.
not just kinda 'there' like a lot of the 2nd was, save for 8bit heroes which may be the best Nier song period and either the 1st or 2nd best chiptune along with Bayonetta's One Of A Kind.

just a lot of simple, nice arrangements. i wish they had done more with a couple of them - Shadowlord and Snow in Summer mainly - and not just made them all a very similar style. you won't find an incredible fast piece here, which i was hoping i'd get. but they're nice arrangements.
