How the **** did they figure that watching two coaches yell at each other is more exciting than Simmonds/Engelland? I was watching it on TV, but I figured I just missed most of the fight (wasn't paying attention until they got separated) rather than them actually choosing not to broadcast it.

I'm sure your reaction would be exactly the same if Rinaldo, who hadn't been on the ice all period, was put out there in the last minute, ignored the puck, and took a run at Crosby.

I'm sure I'd be miffed but as long as it wasn't aimed at the head or anything I wouldn't have a meltdown.
And then maybe I'd question my own coach for having his stars out against the opposing team's goons.

So, I wasn't watching the game, but assuming that play happened without any on-the-fly changes, that means that Philly sent out their second line, and then Bylsma countered with the goons. Right?

Well, yeah, I'm sure it was a ton of other stuff that lead to the fighting that finally came to head at that moment. Brawls in rivalry games aren't usually caused by one specific instance or even one specific game.

ONLY FIVE CAN LADDER. Sushi, kamikaze, fujiyama, nippon-ichi...
From: ExThaNemesis | #172 Once again this isn't unprecedented in rivalry matches at all and the hit was 100% clean.
The hit was clean in the sense that it wasn't an illegal hit. Like, it wasn't a headshot or anything. But he was pretty clearly not at all interested in where the puck was on that play.

It's not unprecedented. And the other coach getting mad about it isn't all that unprecedented either. BOTH of those things happen constantly and aren't really a big deal, imho.

From: charmander6000 | #161 The Panthers will almost certainly enter the playoffs as the least talented, most overachieving lucky *****es in the entire playoff field.
More like the Blues

Oh boy the gloves are off.

panthers are a nice squad. they deserve a playoff spot for making all the right moves this summer. good on tallon for turning a perennial also-ran into a respectable team.
All the Blue Jackets needed this year was to lose Steve Mason to injury. as someone who watched like 3 blue jackets games this season, i could've told you this.
From: SmartMuffin | #178 No. Pens are gonna wipe the floor with Philly.
I'm usually pretty tame come playoff time since my team winning is generally enough for me. I don't feel the need to rub it in the loser's face after the fact. And while I will remain civil regarding Vancouver just as I did last year, you guys will NOT hear the end of it as Philly rolls over the East en route to the SCF.
Flyers have no shot vs NYR or Boston in a 7 game series, outside of injuring players (which is part of their gameplan but still, it's a bad matchup for them)

they have like 25 points from losses

These past few games against the Flyers are exactly why I wanted to get the 1-seed so badly. They just give us such problems and the thought of losing to them in a playoff series is not something I can stomach.
