Yeah, I rallied a couple of people beyond Cobain. I would have admitted it straight away but when I found out how "weak" lefty's evidence actually was, it was better for me to perpetuate the idea that lefty banned me based on nothing but Cobain's word, for a couple of reasons. I figured I might admit it after UotY was over if the conversation drifted in that direction again.

But yeah, the end result is a fair DQ even if lefty's reasoning was iffy imo. No regrets, I was going to lose anyway. Better to go out in a blaze of glory than some 55-45 whimper.

huh, I didn't expect the silent treatment to be that effective

just so you know, Cobain's voting history was the real driving force for the DQ - he had voted exactly one time since getting eliminated in Round 2, and now he's voting daily

and the biggest giveaway was that he voted near the end of the first day, which he wouldn't have realized was an important time if he wasn't following it

given that the match was still reasonably close at that point, there was motive there

He won Top 100 users through slightly controversial means, so he could well of dq'd himself, as if he had won, he wouldn't have won them both fairly. Well Top 100 users he didn't win fairly anyway.

in fact this year I had to rally a ton of people to take me off of their lists so I wouldn't appear again!

I really don't get why rallying is disallowed.

To me, rallying is nothing more than asking someone to vote for you, which is what everyone does in every contest ever. And let's be honest: if you don't like the person, and they ask you to vote for them you aren't suddenly going to go "Oh, I guess he asked me to do it. Better vote for him."

Banning rallying is f***ing dumb. Cheating (i.e. alts) is perfectly understandable, but banning someone for asking people to vote for him? Stupid as hell.
