I can't find a consistent answer through Google. I'm looking to get a job that pays well enough to deal with an apartment and everything, and there are four GameStops near enough the area I want to live that getting a job at one should not be difficult.

California minimum wage is not 8.75, at least not in my county or the county I work in.

If you want a job that's gonna pay high like that, try something like In N Out, or move to the bay area.

In n out employees start at $10/hour, and they pay them that much because they can.

Wouldn't surprise me. I got sent a card like that (through Higher One) for financial aid, took one look at it and the restrictions and fees, laughed, and told them to just direct deposit my money (which takes a few more days for no good reason from what I see). They just gave me a legit, working card waiting for activation, in hopes that I'd do the convenient thing and just use it. Waste of plastic.
