I bumped into a pilot in Armored Core V that named himself "Shinji Ikari" and was like a tribute to NGE. He sucked, but he had the NERV emblem as his emblem, so that was pretty cool.

Shinji is a great character

If horribly bad is great... oh wait. Intentions don't matter, he's still a horrible, unlikable character.
NGE is a great anime, but I say that simply because it's entertaining. (I don't get why people act like it's this "Holier-than-thou psychological mind trip" though. NGE is rather... simple.)

Don't get how tiering "information that was rather clearly given out in the anime" has anything to do with it.
Only thing on that chart that I didn't already understand was... where just about everyone seems to be at (some variant of "Level 5": Seriously, NGE is not some hyper-psychological mind screw. It's actually very clear with what it tells you.), If I'm getting your chart right, I'm a level 4 with the mentality of a level 0, and I love it.
