Seed Destiny Episode 26

So it turns out that 3 people working under Not-Char are Cyber-Newtypes, huh? Interesting. Stella in general is very Four-ish to me.

Pretty decent episode, actually! I especially liked Lacus and Andrew's escape to space. It was pretty funny, especially when Not-Lacus arrived. "How come no one is here to greet ME". Pretty awesome when her manager was like "awe crap, it's the real one." and then Fake Lacus gives him a pouty look.

It's a little concerning that that'd actually try to kill her though. Maybe Durandal really was in charge of the assassination attempt?

Eureka 7 - 01

I feared this would be garbage since I heard some Satelight people worked on it. Turns out I had nothing to worry about. Great OP. Great art direction. Great music. Great world building.

Best of all, the mecha porn is actual 2D. No CG bs.

So I just finished every Gundam series I was most interested in watching (though im still gonna watch some in the future)

time to do some rankingz and writeups

Series rankings:
Gundam 00 S1+S2+Trailblazer- I think most people prefer season 1 and I can see why but I slightly preferred 2. While the concept of S1 was a little better I think S2 was paced better, and like how complex the story got especially with the events that happened in S1. Armed interventions was a great idea though it was more used in S1 which is one thing it has over S2. I knew Trailblazer would have Aliens coming in and I kept an open mind, but the plot just wasnt as exciting as the first two. Action and animation were always great and there a bunch of great moments throughout the whole series. I didn't dislike anyone though Mr. Bushido... was really unnecessary. I cared about everyone on the Ptolemaios the most easily though.

G Gundam- The Gundam series I watched that's the most unique but that definitley was not a bad thing. All the attack yelling was great and I liked most of the main characters. Could've been a bit shorter (like most Gundam series) and had less mediocre filler but I really liked the cheesinses and how ridiculous most of the attacks and characters were.

War in the Pocket- you dont need a 49-50 ep series to show how much war sucks hell you dont need the main character to fight to show how much war sucks. War in the Pocket does it in 6 and does it pretty well. Sure Al was kinda annoying for the first half but that was sorta the point and seeing how he turned out in the end was kinda sad. Bernie and Christina were both cool though Chris couldve gotten more screentime outside fighting.

Wing- I like a bunch of the characters but damn the series is way too long and drawn out. At least the action is kinda cool and Endless Waltz was a nice ending.

Zeta- I admit a lot of the charm in this series for me was the ridiculous amount of slapping and punching. Kamille's douchiness was hilarious but it was nice to see him develop. Quattro was a bro. Sadly there was a bunch of unnecssary filler and fantastic characters like Katz and Reccoa. Also almost all the romance sucks. At least some of the fights were good.

Seed movie Trilogy- The first half was sorta the original series but with better graphix and a few characters I actually like. The second half was a bit different I guess. I stlil didn't care for it overall though.

08th MS Team- I watched this a looong time ago before I started my Gundam marathon for some reason. I honestly can't remember much except that the romance was kinda good (if rushed) and I didn't care for much else.

Original Series Movie Trilogy- I didn't really care for it overall. I didn't really care for Amuro even after he developed. I didn't care for Char as much as I did in Zeta. While there was no one I disliked in the series there were very few I gave a damn about. There was that silly romance but it isn't bad as others in other series. Basically there wasn't too much to like, but thankfully not much to dislike either, just a bunch of apathy. I did kinda like the fights at least!

Seed Destiny 4 Movies - Not quite as bad as people make it out to be. Maybe its slightly different in the series but I at liked the concept of following mostly Athrun instead of Kira and how he deals with the world after the original. However, seed destiny does have some things I don't like some of the romance, retconning a few things and just felt pretty pointless overall. Also Shinn is almost exactly like Kamille except they gave him bad development instead of good.

Char's Counterattack- I honestly didn't like it. Char's motives were dumb and they didnt even explain how he even developed in the way that he did. I didn't like Quess and Hathaway. Amuro was the only character worth a damn really.

Top 10 Characters
1.Lacus- She can kinda be seen as a Mary sue understandably, but I liked her mix of being nice and great with politics.
2.Heero- I usually don't like stoic characters but Heero's one of the better ones. Has decent development and some of the most badass/entertaining feats in any Gundam series. Can actually use the Zero system a lot (eventually), He can be unintentionally funny too.
3.Domon- He's kind of a douche but he develops out of it eventually. Can't go wrong with his awesome catch phrases/attacks.
4.Allenby- Badass and more of a bro than any of the Shuffle Alliance.
5.Quattro- like I said earlier I liked Char in Zeta moore than the original. He was a bro, a cool mentor, comes to laugh at you, and sunglasses > masks
6.Setsuna F. Seiei- I didn't care for him much towards the beginning but he had good development. And his I AM GUNDAM and I AM SETSUNA F SEIEI moments are hilarious
7.Sumeragi- Gundam 00 wouldnt be as great (or possible) without her great tactical forecasting. I liked the S1 plans more though.
8.Bernie- Nice development and interaction, and his last fight is one of the best duels in the series.
9.Master Asia- Has some of the most badass feats but I dont really like his motives.
10.Schwarz- Cool mentor guy and somehow makes Clown Ninjas in a Super Robot series badass.


Top 10 Gundams
1.Fuunsaiki - anyone who rides it becomes 10x more badass
2Wing Zero - sure it makes you go crazy but aw yeah giant powerful particle beams.
3/4Shining/Burning/God aW yeah destorying Gundams by grabbing them and making them disenegreat/explode
5Deathschythe (Hell)- a Gundam that uses a scythe is so... odd but so AWESOME
6Hyaku Shiki- mostly for its looks. mm golden armor
7Cherudim- those shield bits
8/9Virtue/Seravee- I actually liked the concept of a really slow but really powerful gundam with a built in shield
10Exia- I liked its sword

BTW: Char's motives in CCA are exactly the same as they were in Zeta. The rhetoric he spouts in CCA is nearly identical to the speech he gives in Dakar. And for what its worth, "Quattro" is just as much a mask as "Char" was. The real Casval is very much a ball of self-loathing and vengeance.

Another clipshow for Destiny. This one was a weird one and I didn't really understand it though. Durandal talks to ghosts? He seems especially close with Rau le Cruset. And it seems like he's pretty much madly in love with Gladys. I mean, i knew they were boning, but dayum

I mean, looking back this is shouldn't have been surprising. Even early on I picked up that they had the same VA, but i just thought it was him being cast in a different role. Not that he was the same god damn character.

Also, Seed/Destiny Writers. Having the same flashback over and over with the same quote does not make the scene more emotional, even if you keep doing it in the same episode. We get it, Stella is afraid of dieing. We got this at the beginning and we get it everytime you have her flip her **** when she hears the word "death".

I actually didn't care for this latest AGE ep. It hit kinda flat for me, I guess because that twist has been done better in so many other works.

The subtitle file was finally released for episode 5 of Unicorn

Pretty awesome episode. Overall, it felt like the weakest of the lot so far but I think that's because its like the true middle of the series so it doesn't have a proper beginning or end. And even if it was the weakest of the episodes it was still a 10/10. Just a slightly weaker 10/10.

I was pretty upset that the Delta Plus got destroyed. During that scene I looked at my model of it and cried a little >_>. Riddhe was a bit of a punk this episode and I'm concerned about his final scene in the episode.

I loved the scene where the psycho frame between the Unicorn and the Banshee were resonating. It was pretty awesome that Martha and Alberto were seriously concerned that there could be another "Axis Shock". When the Unicorn's psycho frame DID overload, leading to the same glow from the end of CCA, it was pretty emotional.

So emotional when Marida finally remembered who her true master was. I actually DID cry during that scene. Is it me or did Alberto seem to have a bit of a thing for Marida?

And Bright bossed up literally all of his scenes. There is no better man than Bright Noa IMHO. Kai's scene could have been longer, still it was neat seeing him. It was even neat seeing that ***** Beltorchika.

It's a damn shame that the ship named in the honor of the greatest Federation General, Revil, is being used for some bull crap

ZZ is pretty chill, Turn A is one of my favorites. It is definitely slower paced but i found the setting and characters absolutely charming

A few episodes in ZZ were pretty boring/lame but its not WORST GUNDAM EVER that many people say Also I like how the opening claims its not an anime

Turn A is slow paced so far. I hear there arent too many fights so hopefully everything else makes up for it

Wut. Who here said they want to have sex with Marida? She is a great character because she is

1 - Thoughtful. Her scene with Banagher in episode 2 is one of the highlights of the show for me.
2 - Bad ass. This goes without saying since she's a mobile suit pilot. Plus her fight with Banagher in 1 was pretty cool.
3 - Tragic. I shouldn't have to say way
