I don't understand why people like Gastrodon. It's a much uglier version of Lapras.

I like Lapras a lot, but I'd take Gastrodon over it any day. I love its design, and it's unbelievably fun to use in battle; as most Water/Ground types are.

I will admit that Gabite > Garchomp is a pretty awful turnout, but I wasn't allowing Phanpy > Donphan instead, would've been even more laughable.

I will admit chomp had more staying power though. If Krokorok couldn't be the last croc standing then I'm glad Gabite was the last... land shark... thing.

Edit: And effin' Phanpy > Donphan would be the most absurd result since the Normal contest final round tbqh.

Whoopedoo, I gain an enemy. Yaaay.

I may get better now that the other Ground/Psychic is gone though. Claydol is and always was a personal favorite of mine for about 3 years. It's design intrigued me, it's genderless and it was one of my initial Level 100 Pokemon in Ruby/Sapphire. I even used it in roleplays every once in a while.

And all the blaming other voters for not choosing Krok/Mamoswine like they were supposed to or something. There was a whole lot of "my opinion is fact and how dare you disagree" type thing going around. I'd call that a meltdown.

Krookodile literally does the same thing Krok does, only better. Having one crocodile with sunglasses is more than enough. Rhyperior is a tad over the top with its design, but at least it isn't just a taller version of Rhydon.

I don't understand why people hate Rhyperior so passionately. I can understand that it doesn't look that great but still. There's worse stuff.. like Gastrodon. I'll stop voting for it when my faves are in danger.

Well speed. I can't tell you why others hate it so much, but I've already mentioned how I rank appearances over actual ability. I don't care how useful a pokémon is, if it looks like a piece of poop, I won't use it. And Rhyperion literally, well... you know. Also it's kind of a waste. Rhydon already had final evo stats and it didn't need an evo. Rhyperior to me is just one big cop out- an excuse for GameFreak to not be creative and put forth something new, but rather revisit an already decent line and screw with it. And for what? Ridiculously high stats? One extra move? Terrible! GF could have made a new line instead of all the gross evos they invented in Gen 4.

Finally the name. "Rhyperion" would have been so much better imo. "Rhyperior" is kind of ick-sounding and I end up resenting it when "Serperior" came along because it's an already used naming gimmick only much better than the original and it doesn't get the credit it deserves because it came second.

Tl;dr: If it had a (much) better design and an 'n' instead of an 'r' at the end, I would undoubtedly like it.

Regarding Gastrodon, I really don't like that thing either. And I don't quite get why others really like it. But I don't hate it. It's not "in your face" enough to be hatable.

I wasn't bringing usability battle wise. I was just saying that it really doesn't look that bad in appearance.

And the reason you rave about Krokorok (one of the reasons, at least) is because it has a picture with it's arms crossed. Looking sassy doesn't really have anything to do with anatomical design and color scheme.

I like it's anatomical build and color scheme too though. Better than Krookodile's at the very least. The pallet is the same as Sandile's: tan, dark grey, and pink which I think makes a great combo, while Krook turns this terra cotta color which... doesn't quite strike me as all that pleasing. Also it has a bit of a belly on it, while Krokorok is sleek and slender.

I understand different strokes for different folks and all. I just like Krokorok better and it really stank to lose him the way I did. And all the "oh man I would've saved Krokorok if x_insert reason here_x" was not helping.
