I just said last night how I can't wait until someone gets arrest for trolling in the UK, and XIII and ngirl try to defend it.

what noteworthy english-speaking countries are even left?

Canada's the only one that comes to mind and I don't think that'll last particularly long!

Well you can already subpoena internet records with warrants, there would be nothing new there.

"the installation of thousands of devices linked to the networks of Internet service providers" is the big deal. They're gonna be storing all your internet activity, and they might "promise" not to do anything with it unless there's a warrant, but there's legally nothing stopping them. But I guess you guys actually trust government over there so maybe this isn't bad.

Well, the conservative government has been (most likely) screwing with elections, planning to buy a certain type of jet years before the bid even began, and generally made an ass of themselves lately. Screw them.

Stephen Harper's been trying to destroy the Internet in Canada for quite a while, actually. =/

Conservative government literally said that if you don't support warrant-less internet spying, you support child pornography.

Which by the way just so happens to be the way the government is trying to prevent megaupload from making its case. Literally are holding them from getting access and from paying the costs maintenance because they recently discovered there's child porn in the petabytes of data.

I sure hope they won't be reelected.

We need the NDP in there for a change.

I believe it was actually because they said there might be child porn on a server not because they actually took the effort to find any.
