Like a bajillion hours. Felt like it, anyway. Every time you think you're at the end, there's more. Not that that's a bad thing.

From what I've heard, around 60 hours for the main storyline.

I'm probably not finishing Okami unless I'm told to do so; I think it's fantastic but 50-60+ hours is beyond my usual timeframe.

And this is the Wii version.

50 hours?

Hrmmm... then I definitely won't finish it by Friday. Only about 15 hours in (and maybe two of those hours are just running around waiting for night to fall).

Depends how much sidequesting you want to do. It's probably possible to beat it in less than 30 hours, but you can just as well spend 50+ hours, assuming you're not using any FAQs.

*spoils*

The only FAQ I've used so far is for the first Wanted List because I ran around that field at night five times without finding my last mob. Checked two FAQs and a map, and I still couldn't find him. Finally got him last night in a place I thought I had fought dozens of times before. At least eight nights of only searching, not counting regular nightfalls that happen just from doing things and nights spent searching for buried treasure (because those were before I got the quest).

Also, at least ten minutes of play time trying to make a line from left to right.

40-50 hours

It's split into three segments that are about 15 hours each. Doesn't even feel that long though. Amazing game.

If you're playing the Wii version then you're doing it wrong.

Also you should probably hold off on quests that require it to be either day or night until you progress farther into the game. You'll have an easier time of it at some point.

It's what they had. Figured I would brush up on using the Wii for Xenoblade, too.

What do you mean? It has better controls than the awkward PS2 stick, and I don't have a PS2 anymore. It died off...

I would say it's kind of a spoiler to say how long the game is. One of my favorite things about the game is how when you think the game is almost over, there is even more, and it's all incredible. 30-50, usually 45 hours on your first time, yeah.

From: Ytterbium_70 | #019

Yeah because waggling to attack is so much better for control
And drawing is actually worse with the Wii. You are manually drawing, which results in jagged and ugly lines that don't always work correctly, while with the analog stick you have smooth brush-like motions, even when you get good at the drawing and go really fast. The colors are also nicer on PS2.
Wii has better loading times, though.

The Wii version ruined the amazing visual style of Okami and turned it into generic cel-shading.

If you have a PS2 there's no excuse for not getting that version. Actually, scratch that. There's no excuse for not getting that version period, because if you don't own a PS2 you're obviously doing something very wrong.
