Mission 5: Dead or Alive

This was pretty fun actually. Cloaking Kerrigan for some infiltration on a broader scale was nice. I'm looking forward to hearing the lovely Tricia Helfer's take on Kerrigan come SC2 but this voice actress is pretty good, I'm enjoying her character. I wish there was more dialogue in this game... oh well.

Anyway, I built up a gr-r-rand ar-r-rmy of Wraiths as soon as I figured out what the hell they were for. Crossing that body of water... poor Raynor and Kerrigan had to get left behind. Of course I later discovered Dropships might have been able to transport them once I found out about them as well! But my Wraith army was pretty superb.

Dealing with the Confederate Dropships was kind of a rush too. They kept showing up at my doorstep with some unwanted guests so I had to teach them how a New York native deals with yesterday's news.

It was nice fighting my own 'side' because I got some tips from the enemy on how to run my camp. I also tried out some hotkeys and I'm starting to get the hang of this whole computer gaming thing a bit more. Which is good.

Mission 6: Zerg are D***s

Save the Confederates? Man, I'm not a big fan of how these Sons of Korhal operate. But I suppose I can see their point. I don't like their leader much, he's hiding something.

I high-tail it to Figaro and what do I find but a handful of structures all in a bind. They're on fire! Thankfully an SCV is lying around, its pilot getting drunk or something because there are fires nearby and he literally doesn't give a f*** until I smack some sense into him and tell him to f***ing do something about it so he does something about it and they're no longer on fire. Whew.

So, Zerg are d***s, I was looking for the Norad and they're comin' at me from every side. Thankfully Jim Raynor is as good with a Vulture as he is with the pick-up lines, which is to say not very, because he keeps driving off in the wrong direction for some reason. Ah well, I eventually smack some sense into him as well and things start coming together.

I realize quite late that I can build units with structures the SCVs I ran into create, which I was only unsure of because I couldn't seem to interact with the preexisting structures. So I very nearly damn myself because I'm waltzing around with my starting units and run into a metric f***ton of Zerg, which I'm learning is pretty much their only variety anyway.

I start building a gr-r-rand ar-r-rmy of Firebats and they ask me if I want to burn stuff and no s*** I want to burn stuff so they run off and Zerg are crispy critters! Then I have a really tough time getting Jim Raynor into the little valley thing that the Norad is in so he runs around like his throat's been slit for a nickel for a while as Zerg continue to be d***s but eventually he takes a hint.

'General Duke', what a stupid name.

So I build a bunch of units but lo and behold, believe it or not that's precisely what the Zerg are doing too. So this is how the RTS genre works, huh? Well my stack is never bigger but it's bolder and organized by color so we gradually turn the odds in our favor. Then I kill the Overlords because there can be only one Overlord, otherwise it doesn't make sense.

General Duke is dumb and we win.

Now I learn the Zerg's origin and that's kinda cool I guess. And Raynor says the word "darlin'" and it makes me laugh.

I slowburn everything I do, so I understand. I appreciate it. :)

Just don't jeopardize any schoolwork for the sake of pleasing me and anybody else following your quest. And if after awhile you decide the game isn't to your liking, just stop playing, I guess. I don't want you to feel forced to labor through a game on a platform and genre that you don't particularly enjoy.

Man, I need to go back and play SC, if only the campaign. The only standard Starport unit being the Wraith strikes me as so odd. I'd really like to get a chance to experiment with it, since it's utter crap and not worth using whatsoever in Wings of Liberty's campaign.

P.S. SEMI-FINALS OF GSL SEASON 2 LIVE IN 2 HOURS if there are actually some other competitive SC2 fans that happen to be reading this.
