Thinking about it, I'm almost certainly going to take the Bruins. Just because of Holtby. Kid has talent, but I just cannot see him beating Tim Thomas four times. It's kinda crazy how unlucky it is that the Caps are without their top TWO goalies. I challenge you to name any single team in the playoffs who you'd pick to win if they were down to their third-string goalie. Also kinda crazy how good Holtby actually is as a third option. I can't even tell you who the Kings third goalie is!

The irony with the "realignment bracket" is that the complaints were that the format would make it harder for the teams in the 8-team conferences to get into the playoffs.

Canucks were terrible for years and years and years. The first time they made the finals, they had made the playoffs despite a losing record in the regular season. The second time they made the finals, they were a 7th seed who got hot in the playoffs, having been average in the regular season again. And it wasn't until the past ten years that they ever had "good" teams.

Nope, Canucks were part of the second expansion with Buffalo, I think in 1970. The four WHA teams were Carolina (Hartford), Colorado (Quebec), Phoenix (Winnipeg), and Edmonton.
