It was just about a year ago that I started my watchthrough of Bleach and then eventually got horribly sidetracked and while the topic was kept alive thanks to people like TRE and Ace_Killjoy, I failed them by never coming back and continuing through.

We pick up past the Bount Filler and are now into the Arrancar Arc.

Arrancar, Vizard, Shinigami, Hollows, Kon and DADDY ISSUES!

Oh what this season has in store for us!

Episode 115:

Party time! Rukia's back with Ichigo and Aizen has an army of 20 Vasto Lord Menos and omg, Captain Komamura's Gigai, ADORABLE!

Best character in the episode: Kon

worst character in the episode: Ishida (because wtf, Ishida, where you at yo?)

Episode 116:

Ulqiorra is gross he totally just crushed his own eye, he could have just, i dunno, told people what he saw but instead he crushed his eye and made pixie dust.

Rangiku and Orihme, BEST ROOMMATES EVER!

Grimmjaw and his mini army of Arrancar are ready for attack. Next episode should be action packed.

Episode 117:

Is the first time we've really seen Rukia in action? I mean, considering we were introduced to her Zanpakuto I guess it is, but I could have sworn we'd seen her kick ass prior to this. Regardless, she kicked D-Ray's ass and then all the other Arrancar's are like "Oh he was worthless anyway, whatevs"

Poor Chad, he's a weak player in all these games. I've yet to actually see a purpose for him. Ishida actually is able to take out Hollows, Orihime has healing and defensive capabilites, but all Chad does is punch people poorly and get rocked. Chad would benefit from some training with Genkai.

Ah, the Arrancar arc. So many good memories. So many bad ones.

Not sure about the first movie, but I think probably right after Soul Society is when you're supposed to watch it.

I guess ill have to go back and watch it then.

Oh and on a side note, after watching 100+ episodes in Japanese I tried watching. A dubbed episode and I had to turn it off after I heard rukia speak. Her dubbed voice was totally not believable. And ichogo was pretty bad too.

Episodes 118 and 119:

Ikkaku is awesome. I remember him from the Soul Society Arc but I don't remember him being so bad ass. Loved his fighting against Edrad, although Edrad was a pretty big let down with his Volcano arms. But the back story episode of 119, top notch.

And what better way to end the episode than with Kon-sama's Erotic Conquest of Soul Society!

forgot to mention that Ikkaku's Bankai was effing sick. He's definitely moved up to my Top 10.

Episode 120:

LIMIT BREAKS! but before that, oh man, Ururu, the adorable little girl from the shop is a goddamn killer, I always knew i liked her but whats up with her "reacting" to the Arrancar spirit energy? So yeah, all of the sudden Renji and Co. are going all super saiyan and ****. The Arrancar 11+ better watch out. Ichigo on the other hand...Espada 6 may force him to master the Hollow inside him fast.

Yup, the original is better than the dub 95% of the time.

Ururu gets that random scene to suggest she may be pretty powerful way back then, but we never see anything come out of it. Blame Kubo Tite.

to be fair, how much time do we really want devoted to Ururu. not much, for me at least.

We would want more of her if she had gotten more (good) development, but the way KT has written the series, she and Jinta are quite forgettable.

So your problem is that the minor characters are minor characters.

Anyway, I actually prefer the Bleach dub. Mainly due to the Arrancar and Visoreds. So many good English voices from those groups.

Yea, this is my problem with KT. He randomly inserted that scene to make Ururu appear more than she is but forgot to go back and explain her powers.

There's a very slim chance we might see her do something in the final arc, but I highly doubt it. I also want to see Tessai in action.

through episode 122, love that Ichigo is now "training" with the Vizard, it was bound to happen eventually. But seriously Chad, why are you bothering to do any type of training, you know you suck.

that first grimmjow-ichigo fight is a series highlight for me. actually all the grimmjow - ichigo fights are pretty good

also, I think I remember some episode where ururu is described as an "anti-shinigami" weapon or something... that's good enough for me. she's probably a mod soul or a robot or something. who cares.

I pretty much did the same thing.

Orihime's dubbed voice was the worst though. Definately better in japanese with subs.

oh good topic, earlier this year I marathoned like 60 bleach eps in a week to get from ~160 to a certain stopping point

can't imagine people actually preferring the sub, but oh well!

Because Bleach is about turning your brain off for 22 minutes and relaxing to pure shounen (with a great OST) (even though I wish they'd change it eventually)

also the dub is pretty much an all-star cast of california talent. I'm so glad i switched to the dub, I immediately cared more about Ichigo when JYB was voicing him. I can't imagine people like Kenpachi and Byakuya and Mayuri any other way!
