The trials are about an hour from me so I might head down and see him if he is.

On the other hand it will probably be sold out since it is wrestling in Iowa City.

We're due for one (and really we go by WWE eras, not all-encompassing eras)! To draw some potentially absurdly hard lines in the sand, the Hogan Era lasted 8 years, the New Generation went 5 years, the Attitude Era and then the Postwar Era both went 4 each.

Then at WM 21 we entered the Cena Era, for lack of a better term. Some people call it the "PG Era," but I find that to be a misnomer. PG didn't come about until mid-2008 and it didn't really change the product all that much.

WM 21 was 7 years ago, so you could say that we're 7 years into the Cena Era and that it's about to surpass the Hogan Era in length, but I disagree. I think history will bear out that the next Era began the night The Rock came back last year, which is close enough to WM that we might just say "WM 27" for simplicity's sake, and end the Cena Era at a solid 6 year length of time.

"Reality Era" might not end up being the accepted term (heck, the Postwar Era and Cena Era have no accepted term), but it's the best we have for the moment. The Metatextual Era? The Twitter Era?

On that note, what's a better name for the Cena Era?

Toothless Aggression Era!

Get the F Out Era!

I've always hated the "Ruthless Aggression" term because it meant NOTHING. "New Generation" meant something. "Attitude" meant something. "Ruthless Aggression" was something they said sometimes that had no actual bearing on the product.

I like Postwar Era for the timeframe between WM 17 and WM 21 because it encapsulates what the Era was about: transitioning from the time of war to the time of empire, and tying up all the loose ends from the war itself, before the company finally moved forward with a new cadre of stars.

I'm not saying I liked the term ( I really don't) but you were saying that it doesn't have an official name. I was pointing out it does. If Ruthless Aggression was as popular as Attitude you would have heard Michael Cole say Cena's promo was Ruthless Aggressional....

EDIT: To further this punny analogy, the Cena Era should be called the You Can't See Me Era.

Foley's "shoot" response as to why he is ending the Dean Ambrose angle.

See, I like Foley, even when he's hating on someone, he still puts over Dolph Ziggler and the Miz.

Yes, I am still mad about the Rock saying WWE sucks without him then winning his match and leaving again.

Just finished NXT. I have to imagine that all the roster trimming that took place was to free up some room for some fresh FCW talent!

Well who knows if Reks and Hawkins actually got "trimmed" or if it's a Cena-esque firing where they don't even miss a week. Titus and Young are moving on up though!

Also, bigger stretch of logic: a kidnapped Matt Striker gets replaced by a stunt double on the other shows for three weeks, or Curtis and Maxine actually spending a week handcuffed together without finding a way out of it?

FCW - November 27, 2011

Broken episode time.

First match is Xavier Woods (AKA Consequences Creed) vs Rick Victor. This is surprising because Xavier Woods comes out... with a mic!? He can speak!? What!? He says that he is fresh off a knee injury and that he has an awesome knee brace and that he feels so fantastic that his back lights up. He's wearing a vest with glowing XAVIER WOODS on the back. What a Chris Jericho wannabe. "I spent all my time counting the days until I was allowed back to the ring... but I realized that counting the days were for losers. And for winners like you and me? We make the days count!" That was actually a pretty awesome line. "And remember, I'm Xavier, your savior, and I'm here to make sure you don't get lost... in the Woods." A little lame, but his charisma made it work. Wait, did I just say Consequences Creed had charisma? Whooo boy. He had the most classic smile on his face at the end of that. I was actually impressed. Rick Victor cut off his long hair to actually look less generic. That's good for him. He has Drew McIntyre's first theme song too.

We have Brad Maddox and Byron Saxton on commentary holy s*** this is the best commentary team ever WOW WOW WOW.

Maddox: Speaking of injuries, you've been out for like a year or however long it's been.
Byron: It has not been a year.

Byron: And this is a great opportunity for Rick Victor, because it's like we're at a birthday party, and Rick Victor is the only one who didn't bring a present. And he's happy about it.

Byron: So basically, some people eat ice cream when they're depressed, but [Xavier] took that ice cream and made a smoothie.
Maddox: And there's nothing wrong with that.

Maddox: OH! And he calls that one the Honor Roll!
[Rick Victor kicks out of a pinfall]
Byron: Not so much!
Maddox: It looks like he didn't finish at the top of his class with that one though.
Byron: That was cute.
Maddox: You like that one?

Okay, so basically... Byron and Maddox are fantastic. They've been doing a great job each hyping up each guy and making colorful commentary and play-by-play. I like it a lot. And the match was great in itself. Xavier Woods is fantastic and Rick Victor is getting there. Xavier wins the match with a running snap flatliner. It looked pretty badass. I'll probably show off this match in highlights, because it was great and really shows up how Consequences Creed has evolved.

Also, Brad Maddox says "Bo Re-tundo".

I couldn't find a Bo Rotundo segment, not that I really mind at all since I hate Bo on the mic.

Next up is Kenneth Cameron w/ Raquel Diaz vs Mike Dalton. See, Mike Dalton is the jobber surplus at FCW, so he doesn't stand a chance. No theatrics for Kenneth and Raquel Diaz though, and Tito Colon and Conor O'Brian are nowhere. Oh well!

Byron: I think Raquel Diaz is a very pleasant person to have around, especially during the holidays. Those kind brown eyes, her warm smile, and her words of encouragement. Why not?
Maddox: I'm pretty sure Halloween was a couple of months ago.

The first minute and a half of this match is Kenneth stomping Dalton in the corner. Not exaggerating. Mike Dalton showing some impressive stuff. He reminds me of Shannon Moore before all the Hardy got in his system and ruined him. Kenneth Cameron wins it soon after with a sitout jawbreaker followed by a pin combination where he holds the guy's legs and then jumps and lands on his chest in a sitting position. ...Yup. I was more impressed with Dalton than Cameron here.
