One of the reasons I love the God of War series is because of the Greek mythology theme. I'm not too into reading books. Games and movies would be best, for now at least. Well... you can recommend books too (I'm sure the one I'm thinking of will be mentioned), but don't expect me to get to them soon.
Also for the love of all things sacred, PLEASE give me just a little bit of a summary instead of a list of titles. And maybe add in what your rating is.
Age of Mythology. Basically, an Age of Empires clone with Greek/Egyptian/Norse mythology thrown in. I never got really good at the game, but massing centaurs or minotaurs never got old >_>

Holy f*** getting.
I mean, its kind of old and low production value, and may not be anything great if you already know the story, I'm just suggesting it as a medium for him to learn the story through (its not bad by any means)
I would not recommend stuff based on the odyssey or any other Greek poems. Most of those stories are not particularly interesting to modern men for entertainment....for other more academic reasons, sure, but storytelling is much different now. That is why Troy the movie basically took out all of the stuff about the gods and told the story in another way.
CycloRaptor posted... lol 300 is not about greek mythology, it is about greek history....only very very loosely and heavily stylized.
Thank you for getting that. I'm happy someone else knows myth from actual history.
I would also recommend Age of Mythology, but do that game only if you don't mind RTS games. It is by the makers of Age of Empires, and also the expansion of it covers the titans of Greek Mythology (Kronos, Gaia, Uranus or however everyone else spells him, I don't remember how he was spelt in the game anymore).
If not that game, hit the books. Seriously, even if you dislike reading there's a children's book that gives you all the basic information in a quite informative way called Mythology. It's of the 'ology children's series of books. Most mythology I know I've read, and love that I've read it.
I have one other thing to comment on, but need to quote it.

I think I watched this in my English class. *spoilers for the movie from this point*
Did it contain the whole "To marry me, you must string this bow and shoot an arrow through those rings."?
*spoilers end here*

Troy is pretty good. I always find myself yelling "Is there no one else??" whenever I defeat people in things.
You could always check out Hecules in New York. From IMDB: Hercules (Arnold Schwarzenegger) is sent to Earth where he finds true love and starts a promising career in the bodybuilder business.
Zeus: Master of Olympus is a SimCity-like game, only set in Ancient Greece. The Gods get involved in city life, and there is a ton of mythology in there. Awesome game and even better soundtrack.

Kinglicious posted... How the hell has shin megami tensei not been mentioned yet. Literally every mythology you can think of is in the games. Nocturne a bit more on Greek.
Wasn't sure if MegaTen games would count but if they do then the characters main personas in Persona 3 are all based on Greek gods and goddesses (except for Caesar).
