16 of the most prominent Song of Ice and Fire characters are left! Who is the best character GRRM has ever created?! The most votes per round wins and moves on in this bracket style competition. The contest will continue until the most popular character in Westeros is crowned!!!
This contest can be found on 2 different boards, but only one vote per user will be accepted. The two boards are: Books and Literature and Gamefaqs Contests. Any suspicious votes will be discounted. Each character will be supplied with a link to Wiki Song of Ice and Fire that briefly describes them and their accomplishments throughout the series. Theres a lot of characters in this series, my hope is that these links will remind users who did what and when.
If there are any further questions please feel free to ask and I will be happy to answer!!
~ Samwell won the Books and Literature Board but lost the Board 8 vote big time. It was insurmountable. ~ The rest of the matches were blowouts. Jaime made himself look like a finals contender by dispatching Barristan so convincingly. ~ Jaime/Joffrey and Stannis/Arya are on the plate next. What wonderful matchups!

Do you think cats are clever? They don't hold a candle to dogs and SuperNiceDog is the cream of the crop since he won the Guru contest without breaking a sweat.
(4)Petyr Baelish - I love Tyrion and expect him to win, but I love Littlefinger too and since I voted against him last round I feel I have to make amends. (3)Sansa Stark - Cersei remains an absolutely fascinating character, but Sansa's character progression is phenomenal.

Gee, I wonder who you could possibly be talking about in that post, Maria! Was there ever a single annoying LF fan on the board complaining about the things you said? I honestly can't recall!
*cough*

Someone should make a top 10 list of best and worst players in the Game of Thrones. We all know the top 2 would be Varys/LF (in either order). I'm more curious about who you guys think is the absolute worst player in the series.

actually I was more referring to people in the book spoiler topic on the tv broadcast board, although I guess you were sort of doing the same thing
also I think the most popular opinion on your question is that varys has a much bigger knowledge base but littlefinger is better at actually playing the game, which is what I'd agree with as well
~ The rest of the matches were blowouts. Jaime made himself look like a finals contender by dispatching Barristan so convincingly. And it was only that close because some of us gave Barristan pity votes.
Tyrion Sansa

Wow, glad to see Sansa doing well, I always thought she was hated.
Petyr Baelish - I'm in the "Tyrion is overrated" camp Sansa Stark - I quite like book 1 Cersei, before Martin decided it would be funny just to make her incompetent and wrong about absolutely everything. Oh well.

She was always incompetent. Ned just made things easy for her. Well, Sansa too.
And even then, without Littlefinger in the end things would have still possibly gone pretty bad for her.

Both matches are hard for different reasons. I really like both Cersei and Sansa, but Tyrion has definitely gotten worse since Book 3 and I never really liked Petyr.

No amount of planning will ever replace dumb luck.
(1)Tyrion Lannister (3)Sansa Stark - both of these characters have been pretty annoying at different points, but Cersei has been getting worse while Sansa has been getting better.

From: Kaxon | #039 Are people joke voting for Joffrey or something?
I don't know for the others, but I (usually) don't vote based on likeability or whether I find the character to be cool and kind. I vote for what I consider to be the best character - characters who stand out, who are memorable, believable, complex, developed, and well... Joffrey has much more to offer than Sam in these departments.

Huh, I'd say the opposite. Joffrey is basically a caricature, one of the few characters in the series who has basically zero redeeming values. He doesn't develop at all, he's nasty at the beginning and the only change is that be becomes more openly nasty after he becomes king. On the other hand, Samwell's more unique and he actually develops over the course of the series.
