Well you chose Baiten Kaitos over Xenogears so pretty much by default I can't really agree with you on the taste department, but otherwise not too terrible. You made sure to eliminate Star Ocean 3 immediately so you're automatically better than anyone who actually liked Star Ocean 3.

For what it's worth, Xenogears vs. Baten Kaitos was the toughest match for me to decide. BK is a sentimental favorite of mine since it single-handedly got me back into gaming at a time when I thought I'd finally moved past games and that none of them would be worth my time ever again. That gave it the extra "boost" for me to put it over Xenogears. I could just as easily have picked Xenogears to make it as far as Valkyrie Profile, which is tied with Chrono Trigger for my favorite RPG ever.

Well it's good to know it was close at least. And yeah, that's a valid reason for it too. You have really good taste overall, admittedly I like FFVII a lot though so it would have gone much further. And V over Tactics... well, if isometric just ain't your thing, I can see it. I love Tactics' story to pieces though.

Not from Cali, no, but I traveled for a few years and crashed there for a few months. San Francisco and Sacramento back in 2010.

Well, again, VP is one of my two all-time favorites, and I still love FFVII. Really, this bracket is pretty skewed as far as my personal tastes go. Several games in my personal top ten are meeting in the first and second rounds, while Persona 4, a game I only just recently beat and have no particularly strong feelings toward, runs practically unopposed to the top sixteen.

I prefer V over Tactics just because battles in SRPGs tend to move too slowly for me. Tactics has a better job system and story (I'd argue the best in the whole series) for sure, but I just can't replay it infinitely the way I can V. It's sad, since FFT was obviously designed to have a lot of replay value, and I did enjoy it enough to play it twice, but the pacing just got to me. Meanwhile, I've played V over a dozen times and not gotten bored yet.

Really, a lot of these matches could go either way for me. When I mentioned B8 having terrible taste, I was mostly thinking about how Kingdom Hearts is going to crucify Mother.

Yeah, V is more replayable for me as well, especially so because I take the bus to school everyday and its battles are obviously much more fast-paced and befitting of such an environment. Although come to think of it, the route is about 45 minutes long, so I suppose I could pop in WOTL for PSP and get past a couple of fights to pass time... boy, would I end up overleveled.

Valkyrie Profile is amazing btw. And if your issue be with Kingdom Hearts, you have my sword. Really it doesn't sound like we're too far off from one-another after all.
