the key word here is 'now' which shouldn't be there and 'possibly' which should be there

And Motorola being taken over by Google matters. Normally, Microsoft would probably just write a check to Motorola to settle the case, but Google might want to milk it for a lot more money than Motorola would have been willing to settle for.

To those not following, here's the rundown.

Motorola said Microsoft infringed on two patents used in Windows 7,the 360, Internet explorer, and Windows Media Player. The reason why this won't take effect isn't because the companies are us ones, but because Microsoft filed suit in the United States first, then Motorola did on them second in Germany. Different laws, different standards, and basically the judge saying that you guys started it here, so we resolve it here for ourselves. If you want to start arguing elsewhere you can, but if you are trying to get around us by using them, we will punish you.
