The problem is that having depth doesn't necessarily make you a good team.
I should know, the Pistons have spent the last 3 years have a very deep team. Problem is that the best player was just as good as the 10th player most of the time.

I'd question this, if only because Lebron is destined to become a top three all-time player. His peak play is simply unbeatable, and there's a reason the Heat are the unanimous favorite to win the East despite their horrible bench and inconsistent Wade/Bosh play.
he wont crack the top 10, since he will never win a ring

Probably not, since MJ was o Putting 63 on the Celtics and KILLLING 4th quarters while demanding the ball. While LeSuck shrinks more than should be humanly possible in the 4th quarter and will pass to a double teamed role player as long as it means he does not have to create his own big shot.
Okay, but a team that is good should be able to win without one or two of their players. Look at the Bulls; they had to adjust and will have to continue to adjust to win games. Imagine if the Heat were in that same boat; do you honestly think they could have any hope? Did anyone watch the final two games they played this season?

I'd like to point out that Dwayne Wade led the team before LeBron came in to the playoffs twice while surrounded by a pretty bad cast.
As for "they should be able to win without one or two of their players" keep in mind that two of their players are A) the best player in the league and B) a top 5 player in the league when healthy. Of course it's going to hurt when they lose either of them. That'd be true of ANY TEAM that had those two on there go down.
The Bulls lost Derrick Rose. Their championship hopes are done. Sure, they can still win some games but losing a top 10 player is going to hurt anyone. If LeBron went down, that's going to be a tough blow and end their championship hopes.
If the Knicks lose someone and play at the same level, all that means is that A) whoever they lost is terribly overrated and not that good and B) they're not a very good "team" to begin with. They have a much shorter fall cause they're so much further down the ladder.
On paper and healthy, the Knicks are simply not better than the HEAT under any circumstances.
