Do them all and completely fill out the Bomber's Journal!

well you'll end up doing a lot of them anyway by accident just fighting monsters and getting materials. Doesn't hurt to at least activate them whenever you see someone with an exclamation point since you never have to return to the quest giver to complete a quest.

Most of them just give EXP/Gold/Equipment, but there's a few here and there that unlock more skills in your skill tree so keep a look out for those.

just collect them and don't worry about it. you'll auto-complete a lot of them and don't need to return to the quest giver.

colony 9 is super overwhelming at first!

I always accept them, but they're rather minor so far. Find this item, beat this enemy, are they all like this, or do they become more involved later?

yeah, they're pretty shallow. quests are not great, but the game handles them well. do what you can and don't fret about them.

some are pretty cool, but ultimately it's an RPG quest. those are never going to be that interesting.

Ah. Good thing to keep in mind. Pretty fun so far, though.

I like the locales some of them take you to though, like the one castle in the swamp filled with lizardmen that you probably wouldn't have gone to otherwise

FF sidequests are usually good, unless it's FFX.

yeah, the exploration is better than the actual quest. quests can be seen as a reason to wander around, and in that sense they're good. but in a pure "is the quest worthwhile?" sense, the answer is pretty clearly a no.
