I've had a few interviews with other companies in which I crushed because I felt like I would be a massive benefit towards them, but salary negotiations / company structure / lack of growth were reasons why I turned them down.

But tomorrows interview...argh. If I get this job I'll be able to move to the east coast and have a great opportunity to grow overall. Bleh, normally I'm pretty calm and collective, but I have no idea what to expect. I should go to sleep soon too since it's at 7:30am my time tomorrow via skype...heh.

Wish me luck Board 8.

should be "which"

Bleh, normally I'm pretty calm and collective

should be "and collected"

It's really fine for Board 8, but don't talk like this.
Good Luck!

Fair enough, I really need to double check what I write down. From January to about mid April I have been dropping the ball when it comes to this stuff. I've been getting better at it for the past few weeks, but I need to get back into this habit again.

Luckily, it's not an English interview :).

Inbound Marketing Company...or Internet Marketing if I want to be broad.

My buddy actually set up the interview, him and I used to work together up until Feb. when he got hired by the company he works at now. He was pretty much my mentor.

The way you're talking I'd probably turn you down if I were the interviewer the instant you open your mouth.

Learn how to be modest about yourself even if you are what you claim to be.

Humility is indeed a lost art.

I'm one of the few people left who's really, really good at it.

I may even be the best.

So I guess giving a background of jobs I am overqualified for to compare with a job that I am nervous about makes me not modest? Sorry if it came off that way, I was trying to compare how big this is compared to other jobs that I've been interviewed for (and please don't bring up the , "then why did you apply for the jobs" argument, that's why I show up at the interviews, to learn about the company and to see if I'd be a good fit for them). I already feel like I'm in over my head.

And part of my current job is to interview and hire employees, and there is a fine line between arrogance and confidence. I am more confident in hiring someone who believes they can do their job objectives as opposed to someone who "thinks" they might be able to do it. Out of all the jobs I never have gotten, the one thing I didn't have in those interviews was aggression.

People complain all the time about no finding jobs because the hiring manager "never gives them a chance", or "they just didn't like me because [x]", or "bad first impression". I have done my best hiring employees in which I let them speak, hear the passion in their voices, read their body language, and get a feel of their overall demeanor, as well as skill. As much as I want to defend my stance, it's quite upsetting that people would base an entire candidate based on one initial aspect.

I just heard back from them and you got the job.

You don't even need to do the interview tomorrow.

Just start spending the money!

Confident men do not give 2 weeks notice.

They walk up to their bosses and say "Catch you on the flipside."

Then they kick them in the inside of their knee, hop on their steed and ride off into the sunset.

But I mean if you don't care about getting a good reference, sure, give them "notice."

This is what you should have said..

I've had a few interviews with various companies and I felt I did very well in most of them but I decided to decline their offer because the salary they were offering wasn't very high. I feel I can do much better with my qualification.

But tomorrow's interview has all the opportunities I'm seeking for. Wish me luck board 8.

instead of

I've had a few interviews with other companies in which I crushed because I felt like I would be a massive benefit towards them, but salary negotiations / company structure / lack of growth were reasons why I turned them down.

Trust me. You won't get far in life if this is the way you talk with people. You may think you have 'crushed' the interview but other people may think otherwise. Sure, some of them may have felt the same way you did. But you should always assume some may not have. Its human nature. Even if every interviewer unanimously agreed that you did a fantastic job with the interview, there is no reason for you to get it over you head. Just give yourself a hypothetical pat on the back and be modest towards all the praises you get. Being modest isn't a sign of weakness or in-confidence.

I could also say the same thing to you about how there is a fine line between arrogance and confidence. I've interviewed multiple candidates as well and have been a talent scout within my industry for quite some time. Having interviewed thousands of candidates, I can tell between a confident person and an arrogant one. And the arrogant ones usually don't fare very well afterwards even if they make the cut during the interview.

I'm not jumping to any conclusions here or judging you. After rereading the topic I'm assuming English isn't your first language so you may not have expressed what you really wanted to.
