After keenly observing that there were 64 tracks on the Chrono Trigger OST, which is of course the magic number, it seemed only appropriate to do a tournament of the songs from the game. Typical tournament rules. Everything should be rather self-explanatory. Matches last 24 hours or until I am available to tend to them, whichever is greater.
A. Frog's Theme suffers one joke vote for Mystery of the Part. 16-1 B. Tyran Castle puts a hurting on the Title Theme, 14-3. C. The Main Theme destroys Morning Sunlight, 15-2. D. The Day the World Revived trounces Gato and his song, 13-4.

D. The Day the World Revived trounces Gato and his song, 13-4.
Oh wow, I wasn't expecting this but I'm happy to see it.
Battle with Magus
Not particularly close either, mainly because "Battle with Magus" is really just that good. I think it's a tad overrated and not the best song on the OST, but it's very, very solid nevertheless. Really chilling with a great crescendo. 2300 AD's world map on the other hand is nicely atmospheric but not much to write home about it beyond that.
A Strange Happening
...I guess. Close match and neither are really all that stellar. Not bad, just... not especially exciting in any tangible way. This one features in several great scenes so it wins my vote on a non-technical reason.
Black Dream
I've always liked "Battle 2" and wished it made it into the game (someone in the comments section suggested 2300 AD and I dig that idea) but "Black Dream" is really, really groovy-resonant, which is a pseudo-compound I have effectively come to know the best of Chrono Trigger for being, both musically and overall. I do wish this track went on a tad longer before looping but its transience is very nice anyway.
Magus' Castle
My current prediction for the entry that gets slaughtered today but I love it, short as it is. A nice blend of leitmotifs and a haunting little number. "Peaceful Days" is pretty good though. Third-best world map theme in the game for sure.
3. Battle With Magus 6. Kingdom Trial 10. Black Dream 2. Peaceful Days ~ World Map Theme 1
Second match is close.

3. Battle with Magus - This is as easy as the matches with 7-second songs 11. A Strange Happening - Possibly the weakest match in the contest so far 10. Black Dream - Battle 2 is pretty nice and would have deserved to actually be played in-game, but Black Dream is just better. 2. Peaceful Days ~ World Map Theme 1 - Magus's Castle is too short.
14. Ruined World ~ World Map Theme 4.... eh, I'm just in that mood today. It's a cool map theme.... I like the mistimed marimba-ish chords.
11. A Strange Happening
7. Battle 2.... quite honestly, I like this MUCH more than the in-game Battle 1. Mitsuda always chooses the crappiest regular battle themes. This almost sounds like a Lunar battle theme. I actually like Black Dream a bit more, but Battle 2 needs a good pity vote. I think this match is worthy of Round 3. (Mycroprocessor, if you see this, I request you throw it a vote, as well!)
2. Peaceful Days ~ World Map Theme 1... I don't like it, but I don't even like calling the other one an actual peace....er, piece.

"Ah, a party! We haven't had one of those! It could be fun! So... what is a party?" "Well, you drink punch and eat CAKE! ...I think."
