If you want the male character from White to be the champion, you have to play as the male character in White 2. But what happens if you choose to play as the female character in W2? Then Hilda will be the champion, but if you played as Hilbert in White, she shouldn't even exist!
What a complete non-issue.

An ideal tournament would have all of the previous gym leaders and rivals, plus the elite fours, plus the champions, and the former player characters, with Red as the final boss... but I'm sure that's too much to ask for. There is at least a chance of Red showing up again, though, so I'll hold onto that.

Wallace is awful. Steven at least legitimately seems like champion material, but in Emerald, Wallace just shows up and is all "Hey yeah, I'm the champion now. They needed someone to fill the spot and I was technically the second strongest trainer in Hoenn."
Would've been cooler if it had been Norman. It would have made little sense, but it would have been cool to battle your father for the championship.

I don't really like Bianca's and Cheren's new designs. The World Tournament thing sounds pretty awesome though. It would be awesome if they had a double battle against Red and Blue somewhere in the game.

The first images from inside CoroCoro have started to come. These images showcase further screenshots of Pokémon Black 2 & White 2 and provide a lot of information. They are 198, 199 and 200 in the Unova Dex and have no type changes Tornadus' Sacred Beast Forme focuses on Defense, Speed & Special Defense Thundurus' Sacred Beast Forme has increased Special Attack Landorus' Sacred Beast Forme has increased Attack Mecha Tyranitar is part of PokéWood. Icirrus City Gym Leader Brycen appears, has a confrontation with Homika's father who wants to be a movie star, and is part of PokéWood. First, I have created a page about the Pokémon World Tournament. We have discovered that the tournament runs similar to the Battle facilities and offers Single & Double battles. In addition to that, various trainers will be given via unknown distribution methods after launch. These include some of the classic trainers already revealed for it.
'Awesome.' That means either obnoxious GameStop/Toys R Us/Whatever events every few months or DLC, possibly ala the new Fire Emblem.

Yeah, its' getting removed. It's a bit uncertain since it's not finalized, but current research basically says that Asperger's is more or less interchangeable with high functioning autism cases, so it's pretty unnecesary. Same thing with a lot of personality disorders since a lot of them had huge overlap with one another.
There are some more images there that I don't recall seeing posted in this topic. The World Tournament one makes it look like Erika, Koga or Janine and Blaine are in too I think.
