Erugios 05/12/12 12:04:00 AM #1:	My friend works at a Trader Joes. Today she was given a note by a dude when he was paying for his stuff. The note said that he was giving her a bike for free, that is out front, because he needs the space in his apartment. The catch is that it is locked with a chain and in order to get the key, she has to go with him to lunch. I guess the note also mentioned that he'll be back tomorrow for her response. She's going to turn him down though, since she already has a bike and a boyfriend. Still, it seems like an interesting method. I don't know the full story, but it seems like bad execution on his part. A similar tactic can definitely be very effective if you do it right. For example, he shouldn't try to "ground" his request for a lunch date for a key by saying that the key is for a bike. She could easily refuse the entire request by saying that she doesn't want the bike, which is what happened in this case. If instead he said the key was for an alien spaceship or the key to save the world or even something like a private jet or yacht, it would've been better.
