Eureka Seven beated

This is one of the ultimate feel good anime. I loved every moment of it until the last 2 episodes. I felt that the bad guy shouldn't have gotten his way. His whole deal seemed too convoluted and I'm still not entirely sure what happened. 44/50 episodes is amazing. I think the episode they introduced the second OP was a clip show and somewhere in the early 40s there was a soccer episode which seemed like filler, that plus the last 2 episodes puts this at a solid

Koi to Senkyo to Chocolate - Alright there's like 10 generic ass slice of life shows coming up this season, I'm going to save us a lot of time by just saying NO to all of them up front. Instead, I'm going to make a game out of trying to be able to even tell these steaming piles of **** apart. This one has a bunch of girls who don't do anything but enjoy random chatting and some kind of plot that involves running for student council in order to save a worthless club. Welp, I'm already ****ed, because I'm pretty sure I just described half the shows on my NO list.

Campione! - "A harem love comedy plus magical battles", welp I'm already sold. Sold on never watching this show LOL!! It's literally a fantasy light novel adaptation I can't even make this stuff up. dear god why do I continue to watch anime when I hate all of it so much

Kyoukai Senjou no Horizon II - 'It's literally a fantasy light novel adaptation I can't even make this stuff up'. It's like Japan is trying to make my summer write-ups as effortless as possible. Okay I thought the first season started out sort of intriguing but I lost interest pretty fast and there's no way I'm picking it back up just to watch this.

La storia della Arcana Famiglia - This show was designed by someone who thinks a guy pointing a gun at his own head and sticking his tongue out is cool.

Hakuouki Reimeiroku - sequel zone'd

Chitose GET YOU!! - And now we come to the realization that nothing that airs this season is even going to matter. Chitose GET YOU!! has already dominated the field before the season began. Not only is this guaranteed to be the best show, but, well. I mean. Look at the description. After the first episode airs and we download it, we're all going to be rotting in FBI dungeons before we're forced to watch any more of the crap that is coming out this season.

Chouyaku Hyakunin Isshu: Uta Koi - This actually seems pretty cool so with the second column we're already off to a good start. There's pretty much a 100% chance I'll check out the first episode of this and a pretty high chance I'll stick with it unless something happens that I'm not accounting for (sub situation sucks, it's like 52 episodes, the show is way different than I expected and awful).

Natsayuki Rendezvous - If I'm not having a hard time keeping up with shows, I may check this one out as well. Second column is KILLING IT so far.

Sword Art Online - This is probably the least dumb looking obviously shounen **** on the list, so that's got to count for something. right?

Jinrui wa Suitai Shimashita - literally girls getting ****ed by Harvest Sprites

Oda Nabuna no Yabou - we really haven't had this anime enough times already. literally, please, make the same thing again Japan. thank you so much for doing this to me.

Kokoro Connect- This is the one that has the defining feature of being genderswap smut. And that's a NO to generic slice of life crap #2.

Arve Rezzle - Yeesh, there sure are a lot of light novel adaptations coming out now, huh? Oh and this one, like so many of them, includes the word 'sister' in the description. Seriously, check everything tagged with Light Novel and tell me it doesn't either have a fantasy setting or the word 'sister' in the description.

Muv-Luv Alternative: Total Eclipse - This is related to something that meisnewbie enjoys by at least 2 degrees so I am honor bound to either not watch it or watch the whole thing and taunt him. Well, I'm not getting invested in watching an entire show that'll probably be bad ever again. Not after the horror of oreimo. PASS

Moyashimon Returns - Need to see that first season.

Rinne no Lagrange 2 - Under no circumstances do I ever need to see the first season of this.

Ebiten - XD dat premise. that's funny because this morning I tried to get into my car and drive on the road like a normal human being but I somehow accidentally ran out into the streets and got destroyed by a truck.

Kingdom - I accidentally download the first episode (or is this episode 1 and 2?) of this anime so there's actually a chance I'll check it out. Although maybe I'll just delete it since it doesn't seem interesting at all.

Kono Naka ni Hitori, Imouto ga Iru - speaking of accidents someone legitimately greenlit this anime.

Hagure Yuusha no Estetica - That does not even sound interesting at all despite promising a nontraditional premise. Have we really exhausted everything that can possibly be done to the point where attempted 'fresh' takes on things automatically sound stupid too?

Dog Days' - My ability to make jokes has been completely worn down by this point. Dog Days, Japan, anime, you make doing anime write-ups a chore.

boku H - look at that ****-eating grin, it's like he knows his awful show is somehow going to be one of the top sellers of the season and he's taunting us

Tari Tari - Two people who I used to respect said that this show looked good. Emphasis on used to.

Yuru Yuri 2 - The only show I am legitimately looking forward to. The first season was one of the most entertaining, clever, and just all around hilarious comedies of last year. I can't see any scenario in which I won't love this. Feels nice to end on a positive note at least!

AKB0048 is basically what happens if you take idolm@ster, real life akihabara, and super robot wars for some completely unexplainable reason. it also makes a story of growth, acceptance, and uh... robots.

it has every possible anime trope filled into one and is making some up as it goes along. if you hate anime you will simuntaneously love and hate this show for the exact same reasons.


i just love it because of how seriously it takes itself despite the stuff in it. some episodes are more idolm@ster based. but the best are the fight scenes. that group who came out, i simply can't get over it. all of it.

Now for Chrono's Summer Anime list (aka, what shows will he drop after episode 1)

1. Kingdom - I downloaded this to check out the last air bender art rip off anime. Don't waste your time, it randomly uses very bad which is compounded by the fact the rest of the animation was meh. The premise of the story seems bad too (at least from what I gathered in the like 2 minutes of what I watched). Dropped after 2 minutes.

2. Muv-Luv Alternative: Total Eclipse - I am instantly wary of anything that says "based on a spinoff" Then it also says something about action figures. Looking like a winner already. Not only that its selling point is that it features action figures not popular enough to be in the main show. Hype Level: 2

3. Chouyaku Hyakunin Isshu: Uta Koi - Yeah, but are they going to be playing karuta? If this is like a fragmented thing where you have disjointed stories it could be a bust, but if it's more i the vein of like... I don't know Hyouka it could be pretty good. Hype level: 6

4. Koi to Senkyo to Chocolate - WTF does chocolate have to do with anything at all? Do they use it to brainwash people to vote in the election or something? Also, why is the description for the show so poorly written, did they use google translate? Hype Level: 3

5. Kono Naka ni Hitori, Imouto ga Iru - Wait, anothr incest anime that's not Oreimo? *throws chair out the window*. Hype Level: 2

6. Moyashimon Returns - I didn't even know he was here the first time. Hype Level: 0, since I'm not watching the first season.

9. Hagure Yuusha no Estetica - Wait... you return to the normal world after you beat a game? How is that any different from what would normally happen? But it still sounds better than some of the other shows behind it. Also, its probably a boob anime. But will it be Queen's Blade or Ikki Tousen? Hype Level: 5

10. Rinne no Lagrange 2 - Not going to bother. Not sure how I made it through season 1. Hype Level: 0 (not picking up)

11. Sword Art Online - .hack with consequences? Might have a little something here. Hype Level: 7

12. Kyoukai Senjou no Horizon II - Dropped season 1.

13. Dog Days - Dropped Season 1. >.>

14. Ebiten - Sounds incredible, but might also have an uncomfortable amount of yaoi in it. Not sure. Hype Level: 6

17. Dakara Boku wa, H ga Dekinai - Boonanime alert. After highschool dxd anything has potential. However... things like Quasar or whatever still exist too. Hype level: 4

18. Joshiraku - Slice of life. The moeblobness/randomness will most likely determine if I keep it or not. But it's made by J.C. Staff... which does not really help its chances. Hype Level: 5

19. Oda Nabuna no Yabou - This seasons cute girl = samurai lord series. The only one that was not completely terrible in recent memory was uhhh... well Sengoku Collection. Hype Level : 3

20. Hakuouki Reimeiroku - Another show I didn't know even existed.

21. Tari Tari - I don't think I ever had Saveusmaria's respect to begin with, so I feel safe in saying I think this show looks good. Hype Level: 8

22. Binbou-gami Ga! - Reading this description makes my happiness energy go down. Hype Level: 2

MAC ARROWNY'S THOUGHTS ON SUMMER ANIME

Kingdom
Has a pretty fun concept, but could easily fail. A lot of these classic war anime don’t turn out too well. Will be waiting to see what kind of reception it gets (though I’d wait til the end anyway, since it seems like it’ll have some sort of story.

Muv-Luv Total Eclipse
Alternative was awesome, and this sounds like it’s going to follow it up in a really cool way. I just hope it doesn’t turn out to be random slice of life comedy antics, since it’s ripe for plenty of death and destruction. I’d much rather have more Alternative rather than Extra.

Uta Koi
It’d be cool if super liberal meant this was gonna be as good as Blue Literature. Alas, with a studio like TYO at the helm, I really doubt it.

Koi to Senkyo
Had potential to be a good slice of life, but has a male protag so it’ll just be a bad harem. Blah.

Kono Naka
Apparently the viewer knows who the sister is early on, so this’ll be a bit different than I thought. Still probably won’t be good though unless they’re blood-related and try to bang each other.

Moyashimon 2
I liked the first one, but probably not enough to watch the sequel, unless there’s more Kei. Farm stuff is boring, characters were the main saving grace of S1.

Natsuyuki Rendezvous
Okay, this actually sounds like a pretty awesome shoujo premise...and it’s on noitamina! Should be awesome.

Campiogne!
I always love the premise of these LNs, and they always turn out crappy. Everything about the description of this one is great, except for the part where he doesn’t like fighting. Why do they have to give facepalm-inducing characteristics like this to leads so often?

Hagure Yuusha
Another one that sounds like it could be pretty badass fun, though I can see the ecchi elements spoiling it. Hopefully this’ll be DxD tier.

Rinne no Lagrange 2
Looking forward to watching both of these seasons once they’re done. Kinda reminds me of Stellvia premise-wise, though probably not as good.

Sword Art Online
I’ve heard that this is dark and the novels are great, so I’m quite looking forward to it. Only problem is that it’s story based, so I’m not sure if I’ll wanna watch the anime after just one season. We’ll see.

Horizon 2
I’ve heard this one gets pretty cool as it goes along, though it also has the heavy story problem so I’m not sure if/when I’ll wanna watch it. It also has an incredibly hot girl with huge drill hair, so if it all possible I’d prefer to watch it sooner rather than later.

Dog Days 2

Hmm, this would could actually be kinda fun, and it’s interesting that it’s from the author of Subarashiki Hibi. Maybe it’ll turn out oddly serious? He has put actual yaoi in his previous works, and it’d be interesting if the MC turned out gay.

#1 anime of the season, no doubt. Sounds pretty similar to YKK and Kino’s Journey, both of which were excellent, and this has a great studio/author behind it.

La Storia
Otome game adaptation from JC Staff, huh. Haven’t watched any otome game adaptations yet, probably won’t change here.

Dakara Boku ha
If he lost his desire, he shouldn’t desire to get it back, right? I don’t think I can watch something built on a contradiction like this.

This kinda reminds me of Enma, which disappointed. Don’t see this one doing much better, but will check it out, maybe.

Has a pretty fun idea, and sounds like it’ll be depressing from the start, but the picture makes it look not so great. Hopefully it’s more serious than not.

Summer anime write-ups time.

Koi to Senkyo to Chocolate - Save our do nothing club by running for student council president. What a "great" sounding series.

Campione! - This sounds like total garbage. This guy killed a God, but because he hates fighting he'll probably look like a weakling for most of the series.

Kyoukai Senjou no Horizon 2 - Dropped the first season of this.

La storia della Arcana Famiglia - The VA list for this show looks pretty good, but that's the only thing that even looks good about it.

Hakuouki Reimeiroku - Sequel to something I'll never watch.

Chitose Get You!! - Yikes. We can only hope anyone who watches this is arrested immediately.

Chouyaku Hyakunin Isshu: Uta Koi. - Finally something on the list lower than a 99% chance of being terrible. It'll probably be boring though.

Natsuyuki Rendezvous - This might actually be decent. I've enjoyed the recent josei series I can think of.

Sword Art Online - With Accel World being terrible I'm going into this with really low expectations.

Jinrui wa Suitai Shimashita - Hopefully the fairies will be like those sprites in Harvest Moon.

Oda Nobuna no Yabou - What a unique concept. Never seen this multiple times in the last year. Nope. Kanae Itou playing a female Nobunaga will likely be terrible too since I've never heard her voice sound anything other than "moe".

Kokoro Connect - K-ON art body hopping adventures. We can only hope the guys try to turn this into an amazing yuri comedy when they inevitably body hop into the girls.

Arve Rezzle - Heard this is an OVA instead of a tv series. Doesn't sound too great, but it could be ok I guess.

Moyashimon Returns - Sounds like this guy is so lonely bacteria is his only friend. I never even heard of this until now.

Rinne no Lagrange 2 - Finally a show on this list I am actually looking forward to.

Ebiten - This still sounds hilarious and potentially amazing, but I bet it'll be disappointing.

Joshiraku - SZS was a fantastic series and this has the same creator so I'm interested to see what this will be like.

Binbou-gami ga! - As dumb as this sounds I'm almost interested to see this super happy girl make everybody she encounters depressed. It could potentially be funny.

Blood Lad - This sounds amazing. Please don't be a terrible show.

Kingdom - This didn't sound too bad, but the character models are so jarring it was impossible for me to watch.

Kono Naka - These series are always bad. Quit making them.

Hagure Yuusha no Estetica - Could be great and funny like DxD or terrible. It's worth a shot I guess even though if it has any romance it'll be bad.

Dog Days 2 - I saw the first season so I almost feel obligated to watch the second.

Dakara Boku wa, H ga Dekinai - Mac makes a good point about this, but I feel the description probably meant "he loses his ability to be aroused and wants to get it back" since then it would actually make sense, but maybe I'm giving it too much credit.

Tari Tari - I hope this P.A. Works SoL will be better than Hanasaku Iroha.

Yuru Yuri 2 - My most hyped show of the season. I can't wait for this.

This is a moggthegob SLEEPER HIT.

Harem romance plus magical battles is at its core a show combining two merely ok genres. But the last time we had something combining similarly stale genres was Star Driver, which is a moggthegob favorite. I like the artstyle a little and so if this manages to be as pretty as it could be ill watch even if it lackluster in the plot department.

Kyouko Hyakunnin Isshu: Uta Koi

This looks like its going to be awesome. As those of us who watched Chihayafuru will know, the 100 poets has some interesting backstory that Kanade is very enthusiastic about. This being a retelling of that backstory that takes alot of creative license makes me very excited, and period pieces not involving the sengoku era are such rarities im in it to win it.

Natsuyoki Rendezvous

A romance. A romance that ISNT shounen? Sold. Again the poor eyesight thing seems a weird thing to make it standout, maybe Rokko is actually ugly, thatd be funny twist. And stuggles involving love, loss, andr ecovery can be powerful .

Sword Art Online

The OTHER piece by the Accel World Author. This one seems like Accel World only blatantly ripping off .hack, so im less interested. I'll skip it for now.

Unlike maria I am not violently offended by shows with fantasy settings. This seems potentiall interesting due to its concept alone. Ill give it a spin . In some ways it gives me the same fantastical turn on normal life problems that defines some of my favorite anime.
