Early this morning Capcom updated the Street Fighter X Tekken official blog regarding several topics, including the freeze glitch introduced in the May 16 patch, caused when the knife from Rolentos Stinger collides with a normal projectile. Producer Tomoaki Ayano apologized for the fatal bug in the latest update, stating that the development team is currently looking into the specific cause of the glitch and preparing to take immediate corrective action. The corrective patch is currently planned for release in mid-June.
Ayano also announced that Capcom will be doing a collaborative campaign with ramen maker Nissin for the renewal of Nissins Deka-O line of products, from June 4 until July 31. By scanning the QR code on the lid of participating products, consumers will gain access to an original web timer that displays a SFXTK match.
Ayano also mentioned that the PS Vita version of Street Fighter X Tekken is reaching the final stages of development.
Just don't throw any fireballs at Rolento for the next month and you should be good!
I wonder how many trolls are going to be playing nonstop Rolento now.

...although it does bring up an interesting thought. We're seven weeks out from EVO, and for a good sized chunk of participants, the next 3-4 weeks will be unavailable for practicing. What, if anything, can be done? Will they decide to run on 1.02 and ban infinites? Will they sit back and hope 1.04 part 2 fixes things? What if THAT patch includes a glitch on par with this one?
and
It's going to be interesting to see how this plays out. The tournament I'm going to on Saturday (Mall Brawl in Roseville, MN) is running 1.02 because of this. I wonder what UFGT (next week) is going to do. I'm also interested to see what CEO does, as their tourney falls just after the patch window, leaving minimal time to work around something if another glitch is found.
EDIT: Checking Twitter, it looks like they're both figuring out what to do. UFGT looks like they may go with a game forfeit to the Rolento player if the glitch happens, while CEO looks like they would ban him if the fix isn't made in time. Keep in mind that Keits and Jebailey are just thinking out loud so it may change, but it's still interesting to see the pros and cons of handling this in different ways.
Looks like this is having an impact on the competitive scene. Ban a character if he isn't fixed in time? Oh man.
Edit: Also, forfeiting the Rolento player if this glitch happens is not fair in the least. Couldn't players just bait Rolento into throwing the knife in order to freeze the game? And what if he throws one and doesn't mean to glitch it? Jesus, what a mess.

Xbox GT: PrivateBiscuit1 Down with Zhang. Let there be Biscuit!
And awarding a forfeit to Rolento players is the dumbest thing I've ever heard. Just play 1.02. If you absolutely have to ban something, award forfeits for infinites on 1.02, which is still stupid, but less so than the Rolento thing.

I'd forfeit Rolento players for other reasons. >_>
And if this patch was only for bug-infinite fixes then I don't see why they just can't play on the previous patch and, as it's been said, ban infinites. Those are much easier to regulate since the intent is clear as day.

I mean I can't understand why you'd play on 1.04 like this. Any other game that needs rules as ridiculous as Rolento forfeits would never be played seriously. Infinites are hugely preferable to that. Am I missing something that would make 1.04 the better version?

Also people seem to be ignoring the most important part!

Are infinites like the ultimate of broken or something

Just stick to the unpatched game, people won't have to worry about getting used to Rufus post Evo because that game will be abandoned post Evo.
And Kazuya's infinity only works on big characters like Hugo and Sagat, so it's not that bad (especially when the only big guys people use are Zangief and Hugo, and Mike Ross using Marduk.)

Rufus's dive kick was nerfed from being +5 on block to -4 on block and the hitbox is worse, it's now unsafe and hard to cross up with, and ruined his approach turning him into another poke character.
As much as people hate Rufus and his dive kick he's the only character that reliably kills his opponents in SFxT instead of time out.
Ryu's is just way too good and hard to open in this game. His moves have hige hitboxes (IE standing jab hits crouching opponents, unlike most games) his donkey kick is safe and a major pressure tool, one of the best fireballs, shoryuken leads to easy high damage tag combos and his sweep into fireball/donkey kick is one of the best baits in the game.
