My family owns an apartment building, and a tenant moved out, so I had access to a free 1500 dollar/month apartment. The problem is that the commute to my college is twice as long, and it's so damn lonely; I know no one in the apartment and all of my friends live twenty or thirty miles away. I don't know what to do to make it less lonely, I know literally no one within twenty miles, and if I just go back to where I used to live every night to hang out with them, then there was no point in moving to begin with.

What about someone who's first instinct in response to receiving a free $1500 a month apartment is to log into a video game character contest message board and complain about it?
Just talk to people and don't be annoying. Best advice I can give you. You have to know if you're able to talk with confidence, most people will like you.
