From: ZeroSignal620 | #046 I honestly don't think that main event could have been any worse.
Are you kidding me that match was the most hilarious ever. The two best parts were when Cena put them on commnetary and he told Johnny Ace to do Booker and he goes "...five time... five time...", and when Cena brought the water bottles into the ring for Ace and Cole says "He can't drink three bottles of water! He'll get cramps!"
-- SuperNiceDog didn't have to reconcile his name... But Dauntless Hunter is now MrGreenonion
It was a little funny, but not "main event of a $55 PPV" funny.
Also I am amused that Cena can survive a 20 minute legitimate Brock Lesnar beatdown and win, but one KO punch from Show and that's enough to put him out entirely.

I have always been under the impression that in kayfabe moves that you don't expect have a much higher damage rate. It explains why finishers can lay someone out in a promo but kicked out of after a 20 minute match. Cena showed up in lulz mode and had no idea Show was going to attack him. Like a prepared mental shield that helps you out in matches.
-- Circle gets the Scare! Imagine if Jesus knew kung fu. That's what everyone is dealing with
yeah, the finish was stupid as hell for cena/ace. like cena was dead for a 20 count. i expected a kickout -> cena teases an AA on show -> Ace kicks Cena, Show chokeslams, 3.
instead he just... died. cena just died. i'm not sure when the last time i saw that was.
and punk/dragon i think is a punk botch. they were aiming for a 'tap out at 3' sort of thing, so punk thought it was the 2nd count. he was wrong. >_>; it won't matter for the most part as they STILL will rematch, but yeah.
that's easily WWE's best match this year.

Also, Chris Jericho just went 0-4 on 4 consecutive PPV World Title shots.
I'm trying to think back to figure out if such a thing has EVER happened, even 4 straight World Title match losses that might actually include losing the title as the first one (which Bryan could potentially accomplish next month).

OK I think I found the ultimate stretch of futility for World Title matches on consecutive PPVs.
Wrestlemania 23: Batista loses WHC to Undertaker Backlash: Batista and Undertaker fight to LMS draw Judgment Day: Batista loses to Edge One Night Stand: Batista loses to Edge Vengeance: Batista loses to Edge Great American Bash: Batista loses to Khali Summerslam: Batista defeats Khali via DQ Unforgiven: Batista FINALLY gets WHC back by beating Khali

From: Jakyl25 | Posted: 5/21/2012 1:04:55 AM | #063 It definitely makes sense, but even so it makes John Cena kinda dumb. <_<
They've been making wrestlers look like idiots forever for getting distracted and staring down someone outside of the ring and then eating a finisher. So we're past that point already.

Mistake you're making - overlooking the fact that we might not want to be saved.
Batista had an amazing run of losing and remaining #1 contender.

Not changing this sig until the Bengals, Bills, Browns and Lions win the Super Bowl (10/10/10) The most American Canadian on Board 8 - #9 Bro on Board 8
Tonight, Christian shattered the record for longest stretch of time between two Intercontinental Title reigns. It has been over 8 1/2 years since his last reign ended in late 2003.
The old record was held by Jeff Hardy, with an over 5-year gap between his fluke first reign in 2001 and his second, more legitimate reign in 2006.

LOL @ Cena somehow already getting back into the Top Five longest streaks.
Christian saved Cody's streak!

who is this Batista and what is Edge doing in a world title scene.
Chronic1000 posted... So, are we now all in agreement that Christian's heel turn last year was an entirely stupid and completely idiotic idea?
Eh, it gave us a good feud with Orton. I still wish he hadn't lost the title in 2 days; that sucked, even though it led to something fairly original and Christian did a good job with it. Christian would never have gotten a second title reign (as bad a reign as it was) had he not turned heel either.
He did a good job putting Sheamus over too. Sheamus floated aimlessly for about 2-3 months after Christian got injured and they put on decent matches.
All things considered it was quite a successful heel run; to be a World Championship-holding face, he'd have to have been elevated to a status in the company above Orton which I seriously doubt would happen.
From: Rad Link 5 | #075 Orton had a ridiculous streak. I think it was over forty.
Yeah, after the Royal Rumble this year it hit 43. Then he got briefly injured (ANOTHER BIG SHOW CASUALTY) and missed Elimination Chamber before starting his new streak at WM.
I never actually went back and researched but I would be SHOCKED if anyone else had more in a row than that.

I started thinking about who could possibly give Orton a run for his money there, and I started counting back Rock's PPV appearances from WM 17 backwards (since he left to film The Scorpion King right after and missed 4 PPVs).
FORTY-ONE in a row going back to IYH: Badd Blood in October 1997. The last one he missed was IYH: Ground Zero the month before that.
So close!

- Stephanie McMahon recently spoke to IGN.com about Raw going to three hours, her possible return to TV and more, here are the highlight
On The Challenges Of Producing An Extra Hour Of TV Every Week: "It's going to be the first-ever regularly scheduled three-hour program on television and I think we've got a pretty good handle on it thus far! You know, we do a three hour show called a Pay-Per-View almost every month and Monday Night RAW, we've done three hours before, so we feel great about it."
I know they like to bury WCW but this is ridiculous.

WWE.com is back at it with their lists, this time the Top 50 WCW Superstars in history!
WCW is the greatest rival WWE has ever faced. The Monday Night Wars are one of the most pivotal battles in the history of sports-entertainment. WCWs success rested on the shoulders of experienced competitors and high-flying young ring warriors. More than a decade since the demise of the Atlanta-based organization, WWE Classics lists the Top 50 WCW Superstars of all-time.
But before you cover the WWE Classics' Facebook wall with missives like "What about Tully Blanchard???," take a moment to read the guidelines the WWE Classics team followed when compiling this list.
1. Eligibility begins with Ted Turners purchase of WCW in 1988. Anything from Jim Crockett Promotions and NWA predating this is ineligible. We think Magnum T.A. is a boss, but he was never part of WCW from 1988-2001.
2. Competitors were rated only on their accomplishments while in WCW, so the achievements of Bret Hit Man Hart in WWE, for example, had no bearing on his placement.
3. Rankings were based on everything from longevity to cultural impact. Personal biases may have also crept in, as witnessed by a heated discussion over the significance of Glacier.
Okay, now that that's out of the way, here are the 50 greatest Superstars in WCW history as decided by a team of editors, a WWE Hall of Famer and the simple, and the widely-known fact that Sid is the ruler of the world.
50. Jeff Jarrett 49. Juventud Guerrera 48. Dennis Rodman 47. Meng 46. Larry Zbyszko 45. Kanyon 44. Bobby Eaton 43. Saturn 42. Dustin Rhodes 41. Bret Hart 40. Kevin Sullivan 39. Curt Hennig 38. Michael Hayes 37. Cactus Jack 36. Ultimo Dragon 35. Lord Steven Regal 34. Konnan 33. Terry Funk 32. Lance Storm 31. Great Muta 30. Raven 29. Kidman 28. Buff Bagwell 27. Chris Jericho 26. Rick Rude 25. Eric Bischoff 24. Ricky Steamboat 23. Barry Windham 22. Rey Mysterio 21. Rick Steiner 20. Brian Pillman 19. The Giant 18. Eddie Guerrero 17. Arn Anderson 16. Ron Simmons 15. Stunning Steve Austin 14. Sid 13. Dean Malenko 12. Scott Hall 11. Big Van Vader 10. Scott Steiner 9. Randy Savage 8. Booker T 7. Lex Luger 6. Diamond Dallas Page 5. Kevin Nash 4. Goldberg 3.
From: TheKnightOfNee | #092 Poor Juvie and Jarrett, get ranked behind a guy who can't wrestle and no-showed appearances.
I can KIND of understand Rodman if you want to throw a "controversial" pick in there, because he did bring WCW a lot of cultural relevance, which is one of the criteria.
I still think his spot would be better served to be given to Billy Kidman, IMO the biggest snub (which is surprising considering he WORKS FOR WWE).

From: ScareChan | #093 Why is Malenko so high
I think he and Rey should swap spots. Both were VERY important but Rey was MORE important.

From: SmartMuffin | #095 I didn't watch a lot of WCW but I feel like Raven is way too high.
Nah Raven's about right. The Flock is one of the Top Five stables in WCW history, which is astounding considering their membership. That's a big credit to Raven for making them relevant.
